Timothy Charles "Tim" Buckley III (February 14, 1947 – June 29, 1975) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. His music and style changed considerably through the years; his first album (1966) was mostly folk, but his subsequent albums incorporated jazz, psychedelia, funk, soul, avant-garde and an evolving "voice as instrument" sound. Though he did not find commercial success during his lifetime, Buckley is admired by later generations for his innovation as a musician and vocal ability. He died at the age of 28 from a heroin overdose, leaving behind his sons Taylor and Jeff, the latter of whom later went on to become a musician as well.
Early life and career
Tim Buckley was born in Washington, D.C. on St. Valentine's Day, to Elaine (née Scalia), an Italian American, and Timothy Charles Buckley Jr., a highly decorated World War II veteran who was the son of Irish immigrants from Cork. He spent his early childhood in Amsterdam, New York, an industrial city approximately 40 miles northwest of Albany; at five years old he began listening to his mother's progressive jazz recordings, particularly Miles Davis.
Tim Buckley (born September 10, 1963) is a current associate head coach at Indiana University. He was hired in April 2008 by new Indiana head coach Tom Crean, who brought him and fellow assistant Bennie Seltzer over from his staff at Marquette.
Buckley was the former head coach at Ball State University from 2000-2006. He is best known for leading the Cardinals to upset wins over #3 Kansas and #4 UCLA during the 2001 Maui Invitational. Buckley was an assistant coach at the University of Iowa under Steve Alford, who left the Hawkeyes to take the head coaching job at the New Mexico Lobos. More recently he was an assistant coach at Marquette University where he is reunited with former Ball State player and 2006 MAC Freshman of the Year Maurice Acker, who transferred after Buckley was fired.
Tim Buckley is the self-titled debut album by Los Angeles based singer-songwriterTim Buckley, released in 1966. Most of the songs on it were co-written by Buckley and Larry Beckett while they were in high school. It was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, California.
The album was later re-released on January 22, 2001 in a compilation with follow up album Goodbye and Hello by WEA/Elektra, then again on November 7, 2005 except this time coupled with Greetings from L.A..
Rhino Handmade Records reissued the album on January 11, 2011 as part of a two-disc set. The first disc contains both the stereo and mono versions of the album. The second disc contains 22 unreleased recordings Buckley made in 1965 with The Bohemians and in 1966 with Larry Beckett.
"In the Street" is a song by the American rock band Big Star. It was written by Alex Chilton and Chris Bell. The song was featured on the 1972 album #1 Record.
Cover versions
"In the Street" was recorded by Todd Griffin as "That '70s Song" with additional lyrics by Ben Vaughn as the theme song for the television sitcomThat '70s Show. Another recording of "That '70s Song" by Cheap Trick was used as the theme beginning with season two. The Cheap Trick version was released on the That '70s Album soundtrack album and another version by Cheap Trick was released on their album Authorized Greatest Hits.
In the Street is a 16-minute documentary film released in 1948 and again in 1952. The black and white, silent film was shot in the mid-1940s in the Spanish Harlem section of New York City. Helen Levitt, Janice Loeb, and James Agee were the cinematographers; they used small, hidden 16 mm film cameras to record street life, especially of children. Levitt edited the film and, subsequent to its first release, added a piano soundtrack composed and performed by Arthur Kleiner.
The film is generally considered as an extension of Levitt's (now famed) street photography in New York City, and Levitt subsequently re-used the title, In the Street, for a volume reproducing her photographs. Loeb was a painter and photographer. James Agee was a noted writer; both Loeb and Agee subsequently collaborated with Levitt on a second film, The Quiet One (1948).
Manny Farber summarized the film at the time, "The movie, to be shown around the 16mm circuit, has been beautifully edited (by Miss Levitt) into a somber study of the American figure, from childhood to old age, growing stiffer, uglier, and lonelier with the passage of years." The artist Roy Arden recently summarized the film somewhat differently, "In The Street is reportage as art. It reports the facts, but for their useless beauty above all. While it could be argued that the film tells us how working class residents of Spanish Harlem lived in the 30’s and 40’s - how they looked and behaved, the addition of expository narration could have told us so much more. Statistics and other facts could have helped us put what we see into context and multiplied the use-value of the film. The absence of narration or other texts proves the artist's intent that we are intended to enjoy the film as a collection of beautiful appearances."

Straub told Amanda Ruben of TV Week that she felt embarrassed by what had happened, but considered it the break she needed. She added "I was an avid fan of Neighbours when Kylie and Jason were on, but I haven't watched much since. But my short time with the show has given me a huge appreciation of the television industry." Straub was initially contracted with the show until early 1997.

Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me, sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you
Did I dream you dreamed about me ?
Were you hare when I was fox ?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
For you sing
'Touch me not, touch me not
Come back tomorrow
Oh my heart, oh my heart
Shies from the sorrow'
I am puzzled as the oyster
I am troubled as the tide
Should I stand amid your breakers ?
Or should I lie with death my bride ?
Hear me sing
'Swim to me, swim to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you'
