Douglas A 20G Havoc
Flown by the Allies in the Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Russia, the versatile A-20 went through many variants. The A-20G, which reached combat in 1943, was produced in larger numbers than any other model. By the time production ended in September 1944, American factories had built 2,850 "solid nose" A-20G models. Attacking with forward-firing .50-cal. machine guns and bombs, the A-20G lived up to its name by creating havoc and destruction on low-level strafing attacks, especially against Japanese shipping and airfields across the Southwest Pacific.

Douglas A-20 Havoc: Airailimages WW2 Warplane Review
Take a look at the classic World War II A-20 Havoc attack bomber, a fast single-pilot warplane designed in the late 1930s and flown to the end of World War II. Topping out well above 300 miles per hour, the A-20 owes its design to the thoughtful planning of famed Douglas Aircraft designer Ed Heinemann. A-20s fought a ground-skimming war in North Africa and the Pacific, and reached medium altitudes for the push across western Europe in 1944. As this is written, only one flyable A-20 remains, but other static displays and the potential for more flying restorations exists. Douglas A-20 Havoc - Lone Survivor
Of the more than 7,000 Douglas A-20 Havocs built for U.S. and Allied forces during World War II, just a handful survive, and, as far as we know, only one flies — and it came to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017. The twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft is part of Rod Lewis’ Lewis Air Legends collection based in San Antonio, Texas.
Lewis’ Havoc was built in 1943 as an A-20G, is powered by two 1,700-hp Wright R-2600s, armed with seven machine guns, and could carry a bomb load of 4,000 pounds. Restorer Carl Scholl, EAA 184061 of Aero Trader and pilot Stewart Dawson, EAA 187007, share their insights about this remarkable airplane.

How to Fly the Douglas A-20 Havoc (1943)
Watch the film used to train pilots to fly the A-20. The A-20 was flown as "the Boston" by the Brits on daring hedge hopping '"ramrod' raids over the Continent. It was called the "Havoc" by the US Army Air Force who also flew it on the deck in Europe and skimming the jungles of SE Asia. Thisis one of the most under appreciated aircraft of World War II. Many A-20 crews later transitioned to the A-26 Invader.

A-20 Havoc/Boston in Colour - Part 1
"RCAF/RAF Aircraft at War" DVDs, or stock footage clips available at www.aviationvideos.com.
The Douglas DB-7/A-20 Havoc was the most-produced attack bomber during World War II. A total of 7,477 DB-7/A-20s were built. The Havoc was a mid-wing, twin-engine, three-place medium bomber that earned a reputation for getting its crews home, even when both crew and aircraft suffered crippling blows. It was called the "Boston" when it was built for England's Royal Air Force.
It entered production when, despite official neutrality in 1938, there was little doubt in the United States that the country should support its allies, Britain and France. The French saw the secret bomber project at the Douglas Santa Monica, Calif., facility and ordered the first 107 DB-7s. The French then ordered another 2...

The Douglas A-20 - DB-7 Havoc was a family of attack, light bomber and night fighter aircraft of World War II, serving several Allied air forces, principally those of the Soviet Union, United Kingdom, and United States. The DB-7 was also used by the air forces of Australia, South Africa, France, and The Netherlands during the war, and Brazil afterwards. For more on this aircraft and many others, pay us a visit on http://www.aircraftube.com/sitemap/Douglas_A-20_Havoc_DB-7_Boston_P-70.php (you may comment over there, so please do!)

The French then ordered another 270 DB-7s. Before the fall of France in June 1940, half had been accepted, but many were still en route.
The United Kingdom took over 162 of the DB-7s intended for France as well as Belgium, which also had fallen. By the time the United States entered World War II at the end of 1941, British Havocs and Bostons had already performed well for most of the year against German targets in North Africa and Southern Europe. The U.S. Army Air Corps designated the plane the A-20 Havoc, and it served in every theater of the war.
