The Detroit Diesel Series 60 is an inline-64 strokediesel engine that was first produced in 1987. It departed from most on-highway engines, by being an overhead camshaft engine and having full "drive by wire" electronic control. In 1993 it became popular on many Charter buses in the US at 11.1L (677cuin). In 1993, the 11.1L (677cuin) version was rated at 350bhp (260kW) (but would produce 15 more if the cruise control was engaged). It was also available in 12.7L (775cuin) at the time. Both engine sizes were also used in truck and tractor-trailer applications. In 1998, the 11.1-liter Detroit Diesel Series 60 was discontinued. Once the 11.1-liter Series 60 was discontinued, the 12.7-liter Detroit Diesel Series 60 became the motorcoach application. Starting in the late 1990s, Neoplan made the Series 60 as an available engine for their high-floor and low-floor articulated buses - the AN460A and AN460LF.

The company manufactures heavy-duty engines and chassis components for the on-highway and vocational commercial truck markets. Detroit Diesel has built more than 5 million engines since 1938, more than 1 million of which are still in operation worldwide. Detroit Diesel’s product line includes engines, axles, transmissions, and Virtual Technician.
Detroit engines, transmissions, and axles can be found in several trucks manufactured by Daimler Trucks North America including Freightliner, Western Star, SelecTrucks, Freightliner Custom Chassis and Thomas Built Buses.
Divisions
Detroit Diesel consists of two divisions. The off-highway division, which is owned by Tognum, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Engine Holding GmbH, a joint venture of Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Group plc. The on-highway division is owned by Daimler AG.
The first configuration was a naturally aspirated 12V149 rated at about 600hp (450kW) soon followed by a naturally aspirated 16V149 rated at about 1,000hp (750kW). As manufacturers in the marine, construction, mining, and many other industries required more power output, Detroit added turbocharging and intercooling to the engine. Over a period of time, Detroit Diesel continued to further the design of the engine. They finally brought the engine up to 137.5hp (102.5kW) per cylinder and 406ft·lbf (550N·m) torque per cylinder; needless to say, this is a considerable amount of power coming from 149 cubic inches (2,440cc) per cylinder. Much of this increase in power could be contributed to DDEC III (the third generation of Detroit Diesel Electronic Controls) electronics, thermal barrier (ceramic) coating of piston domes & fire deck, by-pass valve controlled blowers and Separate Circuit Charge Cooling (SCCC) system.
The Detroit Diesel Series 110, with 110 cubic inches displacement per cylinder, was introduced in 1945 as more-powerful alternative to the existing Series 71 engines. It was used in a variety of applications, including construction equipment and power generation. The most popular use was in the Budd RDC self-powered rail car. It was also heavily used in Euclid construction machinery. In 1951 a marine version was also introduced.
Overview
The Detroit Diesel Series 110 is a two-stroke cycleDiesel engine series, available in six-cylinder inline configuration (in keeping with the standard Detroit Diesel practice at the time, engines were referred to using a concatenation of the number of cylinders and the displacement, so this was a model 6-110). It was introduced as the second mass-market product of the Detroit Diesel Engine Division of General Motors in 1945.
The 6-110 series engines utilize uniflow scavenging, where a blower mounted to the exterior of the engine provides intake air through cored passages in the engine block and ports in the cylinder walls at slightly greater than atmospheric pressure. The engine exhausts through push-rod operated poppet valves in the cylinder head, with either two or four valves per cylinder. Unit fuel injection is employed, one injector per cylinder, with no high fuel pressure outside of the injector body. The injectors are cycled from the same camshaft responsible for opening the exhaust valves.
The highly anticipated mixtape caused the mixtape site DatPiff to crash upon the mixtapes eventual release. Detroit was viewed 1.5 million times on the day of release and was downloaded close to 700,000 - with 500,000 downloads within three hours. It has been downloaded over a million times.
Background
Sean first announced the mixtape on August 20, 2012 via Twitter and a YouTube video titled "Big Sean Mixtape Announcement 1972". Big Sean released three song previews in the shape of short music videos as promotion before the mixtape release; "How It Feel" on August 21, "24 Karats of Gold" on August 28 and "RWT" on September 4. Sean paid for the expenses of the videos himself. The title of the mixtape pays homage to Sean's hometown of Detroit.
Détroit is a French musical duo formed in 2012 by French rock musician Bertrand Cantat and French bass player Pascal Humbert. Both were part of the rock formation Passion Fodder from 1985 to 1991 before they split up and Cantat moved on to establish his own famous band Noir Désir, whereas Humbert went on to join the American band 16 Horsepower, and later to Lilium and Wovenhand, amongst others.
The duo Détroit released their greatly expected debut album Horizons on 18 November 2013. It was recorded in Vega Studios and produced by Pascal Humbert and Bruno Green. The debut release from the album is "Droit dans le soleil" that appeared in the SNEP Top 10 in its first week of release. It has also charted in Belgium's French records market and in Switzerland.
The formation of the duo follows the announcement of Cantat's band Noir Désir in 2010. The two collaborated in 2011 in the album Chœurs with musicians Bernard Falaise and Alexander MacSween. The music was composed for Wajdi Mouawad's production of a trilogy from Sophocles titled Le Cycle des Femmes: Trois histoires de Sophocle or just Des Femmes.
The station consists of a one-story building which includes a waiting room, ticket office, and restrooms. The platform is accessible by a tower at the back of the building, which heads to the level of the elevated GTW Shore Line Subdivision railway.
History
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) bought the 3.1 acre site of the station for $889,000 - which also includes land directly across the tracks - in 1994 from General Motors. The station was built in 1994 It was built as a replacement for the former Michigan Central Station, which closed in 1988. From the closure of Michigan in 1988 until the new stations opening in 1994, services used a platform close to the old station.
Future
Since the mid-2000s, MDOT has been working with local and federal agencies to develop an intermodal transit center one block south of the current station bounded by the Conrail North Yard Branch railway to the north, Wooward to the east, Amsterdam to the south, and Cass to the west. The station would bring together the services of Amtrak, DDOT, SMART, M-1 Rail, and future proposed services including the Woodward Avenue BRT and Ann Arbor-Detroit regional rail. The first phase was completed in 2010 consisting of clearing the site and building a surface parking lot for the future station. MDOT announced in January 2016 that the department was also seeking to partner with developers to also include mixed-use development at the site.
