Dalkey is one of the most affluent suburbs of Dublin, situated about 17 km southeast of the city. The best way to get there is to take the dart because the dart runs along the coast and you will be able to enjoy some picturesque views.
Dalkey was founded as a Viking settlement and became an active port during the Middle Ages. In modern times Dalkey has turned into a tourist spot that attracts a lot of visitors. So, last week, Matt Damon was interviewed by an Irish radio station, where he described Dalkey, a small town in south Dublin, where he is currently isolating, as one of the most beautiful places he has ever been. We are lucky to have Dalkey within our 5km lockdown limit, so we decided to take a trip down, to show you what it is really like there. We also got lost there too, even though we grew up right beside it....

Dalkey, Dublin - Day Trip from Dublin, Ireland 2020 - Petite Paradise Studio Travel Guide in 4K
For my last day in Dublin which is also New Year day 2020, I took a day trip to Dalkey, a quaint harbor town about an hour train away from Dublin.
Once you are in Dalkey, don't forget to visit their many mini castles along Castle Street, the Church of Assumption, St. Patrick's Church and Bullock Harbor.
The town was sooooooo cute that it was hard for me to say goodbye. The pretty little houses and majestic mansions along the coastline were the highlight of the trip.
FYI: take DART train, instead of the bus, will surely make the trip better because the train runs along the coastline which provide a more interesting view of the ocean along the ride.

Sunrise Swim at the Vico Baths in Dalkey - the best sunrise swim spot in Dublin.
On the last week of Irelands 5km Lockdown we decided to get up at the crack of dawn (literally) and go for a Sunrise swim in the Vico Baths in Dalkey. The Vico Baths are one of the most best swimming spots in all of Dublin, and especially popular for a people going for a sunrise dip. We are so lucky to have had it in our 5km during lockdown.
If you plan on braving the cold and going for a sunrise swim, we would highly recommend this spot.
