Nova Scotia is the third album by Cousteau, released in 2005 on the Endeavour record label. It was subsequently released in the U.S. under the band name 'Moreau' due to legal reasons on the One Little Indian label with two additional tracks (*). The US release also featured new artwork.
Davey Ray Moor had previously left the band leaving the main song writing duties to be taken over by lead singer Liam McKahey. "We thought it was the end and we were all feeling really emotional," says McKahey of Moor's departure. "But after a few pints, we'd decided to carry on and do it (the songwriting) ourselves. It was sink or swim, and we decided to swim."
Northeast Ohio refers to a similar but substantially larger area. This article covers the area generally considered to be Greater Cleveland, but includes some information generally applicable to the larger region, which is itself part of what is known historically as the Connecticut Western Reserve.
The Naked Brothers Band is an American musical comedy series created by Polly Draper. The show depicts the daily lives of Draper's sons, who lead a fictional world-renowned rock band from New York City. As a mockumentary, the storyline is a hyperbole of their real lives, and the fictional presence of a camera is often acknowledged. Lead vocals and instrumentation are contributed by the siblings; they wrote the lyrics themselves. The show stars Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff, who encounter conflicts with each other that are later omitted. Nat's fictional female admirer and real life preschool friends—including the guitarist who had no prior acquaintance with the family—feature as the band members, with the siblings' genuine father and Draper's husband as their accordion-playing dad and Draper's niece as the group's babysitter.
The series is a spin-off of Draper's 2005 film of the same name that was picked up by Nickelodeon, premiering in January 2007. Draper, star of Thirtysomething and her writings The Tic Code and Getting Into Heaven, is the executive producer of the series, and often writer and director. Albie Hecht, former Nickelodeon president and founder of Spike TV, is the executive producer, under his Worldwide Biggies tag. Draper's jazz musician husband Michael Wolff serves as the music supervisor and co-executive producer with Draper's brother, Tim, as the consulting producer.

Stompin' Tom Connors - My Nova Scotia Home (Hank Snow)
For those here missing their Nova Scotia home, this is my favorite cover of Hank's song. In 1972 Stompin' Tom first did this as a taster compilation album on the Cynda label to promote the Boot label 5 LP second box set. Sing or read along with his lyrics I tried my best to decipher. As you will see it was on several different Boot labels also the common Cynda label.

My Nova Scotia Home
(Hank Snow)
There's a place I'll always cherish, 'neath the blue Atlantic sky
Where the shores down in Cape Breton bid the golden sun to rise
And the fragrance of the apple blossoms sprays the dew-kissed morn
Back in dear old Nova Scotia, the place where I was born
The Scotian and the Ocean Limited, and the Maritime Express
Their mighty engines throbbing, make their way towards the west
And the sturdy fishin' schooners, sways so laz'ly to and fro'
Nova Scotia is my sanctuary, and I love it so
Out across this great Dominion, I have traveled far and wide
Where the shores out in Vancouver, kiss the blue Pacific tide
I have crossed the snow-capped Rockies, saw the wheat fields' golden blaze
Headed back to Nova Scotia, where this ocean boy was raised
Where the pretty robin red breast, seeks its' loved ones in the trees
And the French di'lect in old Quebec, keeps callin' after me
It seems to say, be on your way, there's a welcome at the door
Where the kinfolks are a-waiting on that gay Atlantic shore
Down through beautiful New Brunswick and across to P.E.I.
To the rock-bound coasts of Newfoundland, I'll love them till I die
But if God came here on Earth to find a place he could rest
I'd take him to my Nova Scotia home, the place that I love best

Nova Scotia Farewell (Singers: Ian & Sylvia)
The sun was setting in the west
The birds were singing on every tree
All nature seemed inclined for to rest
But still there was no rest for me
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I'm far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I grieve to leave my native land
I grieve to leave my comrades all
And my aged parents who I've always held so dear
And the bonnie, bonnie lass that I do adore
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
The drums do beat and the wars do alarm
The captain calls, we must obey
So farewell, farewell to Nova Scotia's charms
For it's early in the morning I am far, far away
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I have three brothers and they are at rest
Their arms are folded on their breast
But a poor simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and driven on the dark blue sea.
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?

Album Personnel: Ian Tyson - vocals, 6- and 12-string guitar, Sylvia Fricker - vocals, autoharp, John Herald - guitar, Monte Dunn - mandolin, guitar, Eric Weissberg - bass, Russ Savakus - bass.
Album liner notes by Maynard Solomon:
Nova Scotia Farewell: Probably based on an old sailor's chanty, this song used to be sung in the grammar schools of Nova Scotia. But it is much more than a Canadian "Life on the Ocean Wave" ditty. In strong simple language it tells of a lone sailor torn from his beloved native land and family by the fortunes of war:
"I have three brothers and they are at rest
Their arms are folded on their breast
But a poor simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and driven on the dark blue sea."
Wikipedia states:
Ian & Sylvia were a Canadian folk and country music duo which consisted of Ian and Sylvia Tyson, née Fricker. They began performing together in 1959, married in 1964, and divorced and stopped performing together in 1975. Ian Tyson, CM, AOE was born in Victoria, British Columbia, in 1933. In his teens, he decided upon a career as a rodeo rider. Recovering from injuries sustained from a fall during the mid-1950s, he started learning guitar. In the late 1950s, he relocated to Toronto, aspiring to a career as a commercial artist. He also started playing clubs and coffeehouses in Toronto. By 1959 he was performing music as a full-time occupation. Sylvia Tyson, née Fricker, CM, was born in Chatham, Ontario, in 1940. While still in her teens, she started frequenting the folk clubs of Toronto.
The two started performing together in Toronto in 1959. By 1962, they were living in New York City, where they caught the attention of manager Albert Grossman, who managed Peter, Paul and Mary and would soon become Bob Dylan's manager. Grossman secured them a contract with Vanguard Records and they released their first album late in the year.

Grossman secured them a contract with Vanguard Records and they released their first album late in the year.

on a field trip
i grew some legs
climbed up cadillac mountain
dove in Frenchman bay
on a porcupine island
saw a body laying
in a sandy coffin
riding atlantic waves.
nova scotia bones
i found them all alone
nobody knows
i just found me some gold

I created this album using a 49 and Market album for my base and I added in multiple Heartfelt Creation Flipfold inserts.
I also used a large number of Close To My Heart Flip Flaps which you can find here
https://heathersteeves.closetomyheart.ca/retail/search.aspx?searchvalue=Flip+flap
I used a lot of the Simple Stories Vintage Seas collection. I created two albums with all of the products. I lost track of how much but I believe I had two full 6x8 paper pads, a full 12x12 paper pack, 2 coordinating cardstock packs and a few loose 12x12 papers. Of course I used all the coordinating embellishments too.
Ian & Sylvia sing 'Nova Scotia Farewell' from their 1964 Vanguard album 'Northern Journey'. Images in the video after the first two general ones of leaves and bird are of Nova Scotia. For this song Ian is on lead guitar and Monte Dunn is on second guitar with Russ Savakus on bass. The lyrics are in the video and below with comments about the song and singers.
Note: Ian & Sylvia made seven Vanguard studio albums with 87 songs from 1962 to 1968. This song is the sixth track on their third album. The next track is 'Some Day Soon'.

Nova Scotia Farewell (Singers: Ian & Sylvia)
The sun was setting in the west
The birds were singing on every tree
All nature seemed inclined for to rest
But still there was no rest for me
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I'm far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I grieve to leave my native land
I grieve to leave my comrades all
And my aged parents who I've always held so dear
And the bonnie, bonnie lass that I do adore
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
The drums do beat and the wars do alarm
The captain calls, we must obey
So farewell, farewell to Nova Scotia's charms
For it's early in the morning I am far, far away
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
I have three brothers and they are at rest
Their arms are folded on their breast
But a poor simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and driven on the dark blue sea.
Farewell to Nova Scotia, the sea-bound coast
Let your mountains dark and dreary be
For when I am far away on the briny ocean tossed
Will you ever heave a sigh and a wish for me?
