The systematic transcription Kau Lung or Kau-lung was often used in derived place names before World War II, for example Kau-lung Bay instead of Kowloon Bay. Other spellings include Kauloong and Kawloong.
Escalators link Elements directly with the station concourse.
History
The station was designed by TFP Farrells. During the planning stage, it was called West Kowloon Station (Chinese: 西九龍站).
On 16 September 2000, the new shopping mall "Dickson CyberExpress" (Chinese: 迪生數碼世界) was opened by Dickson Poon. The size was 70,000 square feet (6,500m2) spread over four levels of the station with six shopping areas. However, the mall did not have the expected volume of customers and business was weak. After half a year, the mall shrank its size. The mall management company planned to decrease the level of the mall from 4 levels to 3 levels and to combine some of the shopping areas. Business remained poor due to sparse population near the station and a recession at that time. The mall finally closed its operation in 2005.

Imagine, if you will, a city of eternal night. A place so intensely crowded that sunlight never penetrates its alleyways. Overhead, wires dangle from the ceilings. Neon signs fizz in doorways. All around you, 33,000 people are crammed into self-built apartments barely 10m square, while overhead great airships rumble through sky. Is this a vision from the future? The setting, perhaps, for some dystopian sci-fi novel?

Hong Kong Walking Tour 4K - Whampoa Part1 - Kowloon City District
Whampoa Garden is the largest private housing estate in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was built on the site of the former Whampoa Dockyards by Hutchison Whampoa Property. The urban design of the estate incorporates concepts inspired by the Garden city movement and was completed in 1991.
The Whampoa, a 110 metres (360 ft)-long boat-shaped shopping centre built in the original No. 1 Dry Dock, is located in Phase 6. During the 1980s and 1990s, the structure housed a playground on the top and "deck" level, seafood restaurants, a cinema on other floors above ground levels; the department store Yaohan on ground and basement level, and an indoor family theme park with an arcade game centre and a roller skating rink on lower basement level. In late 1990s, the department store was taken over by...

Luxurious Showdown: Shangri-La Kowloon vs Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
Both the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and the Kowloon Shangri-La offer luxurious 5-star accommodation in Hong Kong. These 2 upmarket hotels offer the best places to stay in the city. Both offering specular views of Victoria Harbour from their harbour view rooms, some of best in the city. I give a quick review of each of these hotels and compare them to each other.
For room rates at these hotels, I checked directly with the Hyatt and Shangri-la as well as 3rd party booking sites like TripAdvisor, Expedia and Agoda.
In all both of these 5-star hotels in Hong Kong are excellent stays. But for me the Grand Hyatt is slightly better.

In May 2016, the department store was renovated and renamed as AEON Style after its reopening in September the same year.
There is also a promenade along sea side, from Laguna Verde to Hung Hom Ferry Pier. It is also linked to the Avenue of Stars. One can walk from Hung Hom Pier to Tsim Sha Tsui Pier in about 40 minutes.
Whampoa Garden is served by Whampoa station, the terminus of the Kwun Tong line. The underground station, located beneath Tak On Street, opened on 23 October 2016.

Tsim Sha Tsui (Chinese: 尖沙咀), often abbreviated as TST, is an urban area in southern Kowloon, Hong Kong. The area is administratively part of the Yau Tsim Mong District. Tsim Sha Tsui East is a piece of land reclaimed from the Hung Hom Bay now east of Tsim Sha Tsui. The area is bounded north by Austin Road and in the east by Hong Chong Road and Cheong Wan Road.
Geographically, Tsim Sha Tsui is a cape on the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula pointing towards Victoria Harbour, opposite Central. Several villages had been established in this location before Kowloon was ceded to the British Empire in 1860. Tsim Sha Tsui in Chinese means sharp sandspit. It was also known as Heung Po Tau (香埗頭), i.e. a port for exporting incense tree.
Tsim Sha Tsui is a major tourist hub in Hong Kong, with many high-end shops and restaurants that cater to tourists. Many of Hong Kong's museums are located in the area.

In late 1990s, the department store was taken over by JUSCO department store. The JUSCO department store was renamed to AEON in 2013, to be consistent with the name change adopted by its parent company in Japan.

Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong Info:
