State Route 199 (SR 199) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known for most of its length as Humelsine Parkway, the state highway runs 14.13 miles (22.74km) from Interstate 64 (I-64) and SR 646 in Lightfoot to SR 641 near Williamsburg. VA 199 forms a western loop of Williamsburg in York and James City Counties. The state highway, which is entirely a four-lane limited-access highway with a mix of intersections and interchanges, provides access from I-64 to several highways that serve attractions around Williamsburg, including U.S. Route 60 (US 60) and Colonial Parkway, an automobile parkway that leads to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. VA 199 between its junctions with I-64 is named for Carlisle H. Humelsine, a former curator and president of Colonial Williamsburg, in 2004.
Route description
VA 199 begins at I-64 Exit 234, a partial cloverleaf interchange, in Lightfoot in the northwest corner of York County. The roadway continues north as SR 646 (Newman Road), which reduces to two lanes just north of the interchange on its way to York River State Park. VA 199 heads southwest as a four-lane freeway, paralleled by another section of SR 646, Lightfoot Road, on the eastbound (south-facing) side and Rochambeau Drive on the westbound side of the highway. The state highway meets SR 603 (Mooretown Road) at a cloverleaf interchange between a big box shopping center on the east and the Williamsburg Pottery Factory grounds to the west. VA 199 crosses over Old Mooretown Road, CSX's Peninsula Subdivision, and US 60 (Richmond Road), entering James City County immediately before an interchange with US 60 on the south side of the tracks. The state highway curves south, passing through a forested corridor between residential subdivisions and has partial cloverleaf interchanges with SR 612 (Longhill Road) and VA 321 (Monticello Avenue).
The portion of NY199 east of its junction with the Taconic State Parkway was originally part of the Ulster and Delaware Turnpike, a toll road linking Bainbridge to Salisbury, Connecticut. This segment of the turnpike was incorporated into New York State Route41, a new route connecting Barrytown to Millerton, in the mid-1920s. NY41 was renumbered to NY199 as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York.
When the Kingston–Rhinecliff Bridge opened in 1957, NY199 was realigned to continue across the bridge to the town of Ulster. The former routing of NY199 between Barrytown and NY9G along Barrytown Road remained state maintained until 1980, when ownership and maintenance of the highway was transferred to Dutchess County. It is now designated as County Route82 (CR82).
SR 25 (also known as Bolsa Road and the Airline Highway) begins at the intersection of Peach Tree Road and State Route 198 about 11 miles west of Priest Valley, in Monterey County, and is the northern extension of Peach Tree Road. It heads northwest, crossing into San Benito County and passing through the community of Bitterwater. SR 25 provides access to the Pinnacles National Park east entrance, running parallel to the San Andreas Fault. Running parallel to the Diablo Range, SR 25 passes through the communities of Paicines and Tres Pinos and the city of Hollister. SR 25 continues northwest from Hollister, intersecting with State Route 156, and ends at U.S. Route 101 in Gilroy.
History
One story of where the highway got its name is that before the advent of radio navigation, airline pilots flying north-south routes between San Francisco and Los Angeles would use this highway as a visual aid to confirm that they were on the correct route.
State Route 241 (SR 241) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California. For its entire run, Route 241 is a toll road. Its northern half is part of the Eastern Transportation Corridor while its southern half is part of the Foothill Transportation Corridor.
The Foothill Toll Road (also called The Foothill Transportation Corridor) is a 12-mile (19km)tollway in Orange County. Signed as State Route 241, it travels parallel to Interstate 5, connecting the Eastern Toll Road (at the State Route 133/State Route 241 interchange) outside of Irvine with Oso Parkway near Mission Viejo.
The toll road was constructed by the Transportation Corridor Agencies, also known as the TCA, and is owned by the state of California. Construction was financed with bonds, which are repaid with toll revenues. Taxpayers are not responsible for repaying any debt if toll revenues fall short.

The following is a list of former primary state highways completely or mostly within the Fredericksburg District (VDOT District 6) of the U.S. state of Virginia.
SR 124
State Route 124 connected SR 30 in Port Richmond (now within West Point limits) to the former Port Richmond Airport along present SR 701 (Euclid Boulevard). The first 1 mile (1.6km) was added to the state highway system in 1930 as State Route 625, which was extended the remaining 0.2 miles (0.32km) to the airport in 1932. SR 625 became SR 219 in the 1933 renumbering, but when US 219 entered Virginia in 1937 (and replaced SR 124), SR 219 became SR 124. SR 124 was downgraded to secondary in 1943 after the airport was abandoned.
SR 199
State Route 199 followed current secondary SR 684 from US 360 at Millers Tavern east across US 17 at Center Cross to the Rappahannock River at Bowlers Wharf. 9.6 miles (15.4km), from Millers Tavern almost to Center Cross, was added to the state highway system in 1928 as State Route 604, which was extended the rest of the way to Bowlers Wharf in 1930. SR 604 became SR 199 in the 1933 renumbering and was downgraded to secondary in 1955.
