State Route 241 (SR 241) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California. For its entire run, Route 241 is a toll road. Its northern half is part of the Eastern Transportation Corridor while its southern half is part of the Foothill Transportation Corridor.
The Foothill Toll Road (also called The Foothill Transportation Corridor) is a 12-mile (19km)tollway in Orange County. Signed as State Route 241, it travels parallel to Interstate 5, connecting the Eastern Toll Road (at the State Route 133/State Route 241 interchange) outside of Irvine with Oso Parkway near Mission Viejo.
The toll road was constructed by the Transportation Corridor Agencies, also known as the TCA, and is owned by the state of California. Construction was financed with bonds, which are repaid with toll revenues. Taxpayers are not responsible for repaying any debt if toll revenues fall short.
OR 241 was established as part of Oregon's project to assign route numbers to highways that previously were not assigned, and, as of August 2008, was unsigned.
Route description
OR 241 begins at the intersection of US 101 and Newport Avenue in an area known as Bunker Hill just south of Coos Bay. It travels east along Newport Avenue into Coos Bay and turns north onto 6th Avenue and east on D Street to leave Coos Bay. (The route is locally maintained within Coos Bay city limits.) OR 241 turns northeast again as it leaves Coos Bay, and travels through Allegany to just east of Nesika County Park, where it ends. A county road continues to Golden and Silver Falls State Park.
SR 241 begins at an intersection with US 1 (Richmond Highway) on the southern edge of Huntington. Immediately to the west of the intersection, the state highway has an intersection with SR 633, which heads south as Kings Highway and has a tangent intersection with US 1 before veering southwest toward Groveton. SR 241 heads northwest as Kings Highway, a five-lane road with center turn lane that passes through a residential area. Within Huntington, the state highway passes the Huntington station, which is the southern terminus of the Washington Metro's Yellow Line. At the northern end of Kings Highway, SR 241 turns north onto six-lane divided Telegraph Road, which continues south as SR 611. Passing above Telegraph Road immediately to the south and north of the intersection are direct ramps from northbound I-95 and I-495 (Capital Beltway) to Kings Highway and Huntington Avenue, respectively. Southbound SR 611 also receives a direct ramp from the Beltway. Opposite Kings Highway is a loop ramp from southbound SR 241 that joins the Beltway's ramp to Huntington Avenue. The west leg of SR 241's intersection with Huntington Avenue includes a third direct ramp from the Beltway.
New York State Route241 (NY241) is a north–south state highway in Cattaraugus County, New York, in the United States. The southern terminus of the route is at an intersection with NY394 in the hamlet of Randolph and its northern terminus is at a junction with U.S. Route62 (US62) in the town of Conewango. Today, NY241 is little more than a connector between the two highways; however, when it was first assigned as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York, it extended north to then-NY18 in Dayton. The portion of NY241 north of Conewango was incorporated into an extension of US62 c.1932, and NY241 was truncated in the late 1940s to eliminate the overlap with US62.
Route description
NY241 begins at an intersection with NY394 (Main Street) and County Route65 (CR65, named Weeden Road) in the hamlet of Randolph. The highway heads to the northwest, paralleling NY394 for a short distance before heading out of Randolph into the rural regions north of the community. The highway heads northward as Conewango Road, passing (and soon paralleling) the Cardinal Hills Golf Course until the intersection with Benson Road. NY241 continues northward, passing through farmland and soon turning to the northwest once again. The highway passes some residential homes and continues in a west-northwestward progression into the unincorporated community of Pope.
The Maryland highway system has several hundred former state highways. These highways were constructed, maintained, or funded by the Maryland State Roads Commission or Maryland State Highway Administration and assigned a unique or temporally unique number. Some time after the highway was assigned, the highway was transferred to county or municipal maintenance and the number designation was removed from the particular stretch of road. In some cases, a highway was renumbered in whole or in part. This list contains all or most of the state-numbered highways between 200 and 399 that have existed since highways were first numbered in 1927 but are no longer part of the state highway system or are state highways of a different number. Most former state highways have not had their numbers reused. However, many state highway numbers were used for a former highway and are presently in use currently. Some numbers have been used three times. Officials said six firefighters suffered major injuries, while the two others had minor injuries, when their truck struck a guard rail and overturned on the CaliforniaStateRoute241 just north of Portola Hills.
