Big! is a TV series in which an episode consists of a team of engineers manufacturing the world's biggest items (usually a household item that's normally hand carried, scaled up to proportions that make the items unusable without JCBs and Cherrypickers) for the sake of setting world records.
109: Wood Cuckoo Clock - The team did not achieve an official Guinness World Records. Stuart Claxton, the Guinness World Records representative said that it didn't qualify because the team used styrofoam to create portions of the clock; a material which would not be found in a "genuine" Cuckoo Clock.
Big Ten Conference, an American college sports conference which uses the singular word "B1G" (the numeral "1" replacing the letter "I") within their logo
The first two mini-series, "First Blood" and "Second Chances," were published by Dark Horse Comics, although it was announced on October 31, 2007, that forthcoming Perhapanauts comics would be published by Image Comics.
Plot
The Image Comics series began with an annual in February 2008, "Jersey Devil", followed by what may either be numerous upcoming mini-series or an ongoing series. The first series is "Triangle" taking the team into the Bermuda Triangle, which starts publication in April 2008.
The story follows a team of supernatural investigators (in that they both investigate the supernatural, and are supernatural beings who investigate) working for Bedlam, a top-secret government agency. The main focus of the stories are on Blue Group, one team of Bedlam operatives.
The members of Blue Group are Arisa Hines, the group's leader who has psychic powers; Big, a Sasquatch whose intelligence has been artificially raised; Choopie, a Chupacabra with a somewhat erratic personality; MG, a mysterious being who appears human but has the power to travel to other dimensions; and Molly MacAllistar, a ghost. Other characters in the series include Joann DeFile, a psychic who works as an adviser for Bedlam; Peter Hammerskold, a former Marine with psychic powers who is the leader of Bedlam's Red Group and sees Blue Group as rivals; the Merrow, a water elemental fairy who works on Red Group; and Karl, a Mothman who is a Bedlam reservist and would like to be a full-time member of Blue Group.
Squeeze is the fifth and final studio album released by the Velvet Underground. While labeled as a Velvet Underground record, it actually features no members of the group other than multi-instrumentalist Doug Yule, who wrote and recorded the album almost entirely by himself. Yule had joined the Velvet Underground prior to recording their self-titled third album, replacing founding member John Cale, and had contributed significantly to the fourth album, Loaded. Following the departures of the remaining founding members, Lou Reed and Sterling Morrison, Yule took control of the band. Longtime drummer Maureen Tucker was slated to appear on Squeeze by Yule, but she was dismissed by the band's manager, Steve Sesnick.
Following a promotional tour for the album by Yule and a backing band, Yule called it quits, bringing the Velvet Underground to an end until the group reformed for a tour in 1993. Squeeze failed to chart and quickly fell into obscurity after its release. Critics generally dismiss the record as "a Velvet Underground album in name only".
A squeeze play (or squeeze) is a tactic, often occurring late in the hand, used in contract bridge and other trick-taking games in which the play of a card (the squeeze card) forces an opponent to discard a winner or the guard of a potential winner. Although numerous types of squeezes have been analyzed and catalogued in contract bridge, they were first discovered and described in whist.
Most squeezes operate on the principle that declarer's and dummy's hands can, between them, hold more cards with the potential to take extra tricks than a single defender's hand can protect or guard. Infrequently, due to of the difficulty of coordinating their holdings, two defenders can cooperate to squeeze declarer or dummy on the same principle.
Context
Complexity
Squeeze plays are considered by many "to be the domain of the experts but many of the positions are straightforward once the basic principles are understood." And according to Terence Reese, the squeeze play "in its practical aspects is not particularly difficult. It takes time, admittedly...and has...to be learned - it cannot be 'picked up'".
From a classificatory point of view, the Bengali script is an abugida, i.e. its vowel graphemes are mainly realized not as independent letters, but as diacritics attached to its consonant letters. It is written from left to right and lacks distinct letter cases. It is recognizable, as are other Brahmic scripts, by a distinctive horizontal line running along the tops of the letters that links them together which is known as মাত্রাmatra. The Bengali script is however less blocky and presents a more sinuous shape.
History
The Bengali script evolved from the Siddhaṃ script, which belongs to the Brahmic family of scripts. In addition to differences in how the letters are pronounced in the different languages, there are some typographical differences between the version of the script used for Assamese language and that used for Bengali language. The liberator of sin, the giver of delight I took the drug and went out like a light I giggled on the bed as I stared at the wall I was the one who felt ever so small I couldn't take it, I couldn't win with my thoughts Forever playing chess and keeping reports On whatever I saw and whatever moved, oh I was emperor for an hour, I had nothing else to do Universe caved in, my legs fell away I took the drug but you didn't say That I would be you and you would be me When I took the pill that put me to sleep I couldn't take it, I couldn't spin all the plates Forever in a mind field of personal games What could I do, I was Caesar of Rome Thank God I woke up to find you had come home Thank God I woke up to find you had come home Ooh, aah, home Ooh, aah, home Ooh, aah, home
