New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, South Australia to the west, the Tasman Sea to the east and surrounds the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. New South Wales' capital city is Sydney, which is also the nation's most populous city. In March 2014, the estimated population of New South Wales was 7.5 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 4.67 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen.
The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788. It originally comprised a much larger area of the Australian mainland and also included Lord Howe Island, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Van Diemen's Land. During the 19th century, large areas were separated to form the British colonies of Tasmania, South Australia, New Zealand, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory (1863).
New South Wales wine is Australian wine produced in New South Wales, Australia. New South Wales is Australia's most populous state and its wine consumption far outpaces the region's wine production. The Hunter Valley, located 130km (81mi) north of Sydney, is the most well-known wine region but the majority of the state's production takes place in the Big Rivers Zone-Perricoota, Riverina and along the Darling and Murray Rivers. The wines produced from the Big Rivers zone are largely used in box wine and mass-produced wine brands such as Yellow Tail. A large variety of grapes are grown in New South Wales, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sémillon.
New South Wales is the second-largest wine producing state in Australia, accounting for 30 percent of the A$5 billion Australian wine industry In 1994 the various wine regions within New South Wales agreed there was a need to form a peak lobby group to act as the conduit between industry and the New South Wales Government, and to represent New South Wales at the Federal level through the Winemakers Federation of Australia Inc. This body is the New South Wales Wine Industry Association.
Beverly Hills is mostly residential, consisting of many freestanding red brick and tile bungalows built in the years immediately after World War 2. Many of these feature late Art Deco design elements. Medium density flats have been built in the areas close to King Georges Road and Stoney Creek Road.
History
Beverly Hills was originally known as Dumbleton after a local farm in the area, circa 1830. This name was generally disliked by residents who lobbied to supplant it with a more glamorous alternative to coincide with the arrival of the East Hills railway line, which opened 31 December 1931. The name was changed to Beverly Hills, at a time when Beverly Hills in California, USA was becoming famous for being the home of many famous movie stars. Real estate developments followed in the 1930s and 1940s. The post office opened 1 October 1940.
Beverly Hills was a suburban line of the Pacific Electric Railway. It was opened in 1909 by the Pasadena and Pacific Railroad and taken over by the Pacific Electric in 1911. The route terminus switched over to the Subway Terminal Building in 1926.
The line was built and operated by the Los Angeles Pacific Railroad. On March 19, 1906, an agreement was reached to sell all the Los Angeles Pacific Railroad lines for $6 million to Henry Huntington’s Pacific Electric Railway.
Major Stations
Shuttle Routes
Coldwater Canyon ran from Beverly Hills station to the Beverly Hills Hotel by way of Rodeo Drive. It began service under the Los Angeles and Pacific Railway in 1907 and was discontinued in 1923.
Laurel Canyon ran from Gardner Junction to the foot of Laurel Canyon by way of Sunset Boulevard. Originally a steam line of the Cahuenga Valley Railroad, the line was abandoned in 1924.
Beverly Boulevard (formerly Beverly Hills) is a stop along SEPTA's Media-Sharon Hill Trolley Lines in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. It is officially located at Garrett Road & Bywood Avenue, but also includes Beverly Boulevard. The station serves both Routes 101 and 102. Only local service is provided on both lines. The station contains two platforms with plexiglass bus-type shelters on both sides of the tracks.
Trolleys arriving at this station travel between 69th Street Terminal further east in Upper Darby and either Orange Street in Media, Pennsylvania for the Route 101 line, or Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania for the Route 102 line. Both lines run parallel to Garrett Road and Bywood Avenue, a one-way street that runs west from the Fairfield Avenue stop. Beverly Hills is the westernmost stop where the lines runs parallel to both streets.
Beverly Hills, California is one of the most affluent cities in the world, and is located in the western part of Los Angeles County, California, United States.

The Mega Tsunami that struck Jervis Bay in the recent past has been well documented by two geoscientists as early as 2001. From chevrons, to bedrock alteration, to the scraping off of topsoil leaving behind barren land dominated by nothing but bedrock and tsunamigenic deposits.
Indigenous Australians have multiple flood "myths", with some that speak of waves taller than the tallest trees. These flood "myths" have now been corroborated by extensive geological research into the area. This overlap shows how important it is to preserve the stories of the earliest inhabitants of this land.

#megatsunami #tsunami #newsouthwales #australia #tidalwave #naturaldisaster #geology #geosciences
The Mega Tsunami that struck Jervis Bay in the recent past has been well documented by two geoscientists as early as 2001. This is the story of the massive wave that inundated this part of New South Wales. We will explore what evidence exists and what notable features we can see in the present day. This mega tsunami reached heights exceeding 130 meters or 426.5 feet. And it left behind the telltale signs of large flood events associated with tsunamis.

The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest #wine growing region, dating back to the early 1820s. Today, this well-established region, just two hours north of Sydney, offers more than 150 wineries and cellar doors, acclaimed restaurants, stunning scenery and exciting experiences.
Meet Christina Tulloch from Tulloch Wines and Geoff Krieger from Brokenwood Wines, who share what they love about the region.
The district is home to some of Australia’s most distinctive and outstanding wines, most notably #theHunterValley semillon, and is also famous for producing outstanding shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, verdelho and chardonnay.
Enjoy unique experiences at award-winning cellar doors, dining at some of Australia’s best restaurants, hot air balloon rides, horse riding and hiking in national parks.

The Shoalhaven Coast wine region offers visitors a gourmet paradise with sustainable seafood, fresh produce, elegant wineries and acclaimed restaurants uniquely situated alongside pristine beaches and spectacular national parks.
Meet Rupert Sakora from Bannisters by the Sea and Rosie Cupitt from Cupitt's Estate, who share what they love about the region.
#Shoalhaven is one of Australia’s only #wineregions located by the coast and is home to 18 #vineyards with cellar doors. The vineyards in the Shoalhaven region are among the most beautiful in the state with stunning locations and ocean views. The region’s signature French red grape chambourcin and other warm climate varietals such as semillon and sauvignon blanc pair nicely with local seafood.
