Antonio Salieri (pronounced [anˈtɔːnjo saˈljɛːri]; 18 August 1750 – 7 May 1825) was an Italianclassical composer, conductor, and teacher. He was born in Legnago, south of Verona, in the Republic of Venice, who spent his adult life and career as a subject of the Habsburg Monarchy.
Salieri was a pivotal figure in the development of late 18th-century opera. As a student of Florian Leopold Gassmann's, and a protégé of Gluck's, Salieri was a cosmopolitan composer who wrote operas in three languages. Salieri helped to develop and shape many of the features of operatic compositional vocabulary, and his music was a powerful influence on contemporary composers.
Appointed the director of the Italian opera by the Habsburg court, a post he held from 1774–92, Salieri dominated Italian language opera in Vienna. During his career he also spent time writing works for opera houses in Paris, Rome, and Venice, and his dramatic works were widely performed throughout Europe during his lifetime. As the Austrian imperial Kapellmeister from 1788 to 1824, he was responsible for music at the court chapel and attached school. Even as his works dropped from performance, and he wrote no new operas after 1804, he still remained one of the most important and sought-after teachers of his generation, and his influence was felt in every aspect of Vienna's musical life. Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, and Ludwig van Beethoven were among the most famous of his pupils.
Sola is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is part of the region of Jæren. The old municipality of Håland was divided into Sola and Madla in 1930.
Stavanger Airport is located here. With usually ample supplies of wind and waves, the Sola sand beach is a popular place for windsurfing. Sola Municipality is situated in the Northern area of Jæren. Stavanger, Klepp and Sandnes are neighbouring municipalities. In the western part of Sola, there are 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) of long, sandy beaches facing the North Sea. Sola covers an area of 69 square kilometres (27 sq mi). The population is about 20,000. People have been living in Sola since the Stone Age.
The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old Sola farm (Old Norse: Sóli), since the first church was built there. The name is very old and the meaning is unknown, although it contains the Norse word sól which translates as Sun, therefore it could have some link to the sun.
The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 1982. The arms show two waves which symbolize all of the sandy beaches in the municipality.
Sola is a Japanese work originally conceived by Naoki Hisaya (main writer of Kanon) with original character design by Naru Nanao (designer of D.C.: Da Capo).Sola is a mixed media project, first unveiled through the prologue of the manga featured in the Japanese manga magazine Dengeki Daioh on December 21, 2006, published by MediaWorks. The manga, which is illustrated by Chako Abeno, ended serialization on February 21, 2008. The manga has been licensed for distribution in North America by Broccoli Books with the first volume being released in June 2008. A short drama CD which also served as a prologue to the series was released at Comiket 71 in December 2006, and a second drama CD was released in May 2008. An anime version aired in Japan between April and June 2007; the anime contained thirteen episodes, and two additional DVD-exclusive episodes followed. The anime was licensed by Bandai Entertainment for distribution in North America in a subtitle-only box set of all fifteen episodes. The title, Sola, is close in pronunciation to the Japanese word sora (空, lit. "sky"). At the end of 2007, Japanese anime fans voted Sola as the best anime of the year.

Antonio Salieri composed three French operas for France. Les Danaïdes, the first one, became one of the most famous operas in Paris during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was praised by numerous individuals, including Hector Berlioz, who mentioned that this was one of the musical works that made him abandon medicine in favour of music. This French tragédie lyirique premiered at the Académie Royale de Musique (Paris Opéra) in 1784 to instant success. Its violent libretto, based on the Greek myth of Danaus and his daughters (Les Danaides), tells the story of Hypermnestre, the only Danaid who refuses to murder her husband after her father orders his daughters to do so to avenge himself on his brother, whose sons are the doomed grooms of the Danaids. The opera explores the emotio...
