A30 road
The A30 is a major road in England, running south-west from London to Land's End. It is 284 miles (457 km) long.
The A30 used to provide the most direct route from London to the South West; nowadays much of this function is performed by the M3 motorway and the A303 road. However, the section from Honiton to Land's End retains trunk road status, and is a dual carriageway for most of its length.
Route
London to Honiton
The A30 begins at Henlys Roundabout, a junction with the A4 near Hounslow. It runs along the south side of Heathrow Airport, then past Ashford and Staines-upon-Thames, before reaching the M25 motorway. This first section is entirely dual carriageway.
After crossing the M25, the A30 runs parallel to the M3 all the way to Basingstoke, bypassing Egham and passing through Bagshot, Camberley, Hartley Wintney and Hook.
Just west of Basingstoke, at junction 8 of the M3, the A303 begins. The A30 runs parallel to this road all the way to just north-east of Honiton, passing through Stockbridge, Salisbury, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Yeovil, Crewkerne and Chard.

G1501 Shanghai Ring Expressway
The Shanghai Ring Expressway (Chinese: 上海绕城高速公路; pinyin: Shànghǎi Ràochéng Gāosù Gōnglù), designated G1501, formerly designated as A30, and also known as the Shanghai Suburb Ring Expressway (Chinese: 上海郊环高速公路; pinyin: Shànghǎi Jiāohuán Gāosù Gōnglù), is a 209.22-kilometre-long ring expressway (130.00 mi) that encircles Shanghai, a direct-controlled municipality in the People's Republic of China. It is entirely in Shanghai, except for a small section in the nearby province of Jiangsu at its northwest end.
It forms the final ring in a series of four orbital roads around the city of Shanghai, with the others being the Inner Ring Road, Middle Ring Road, and the S20 Outer Ring Expressway. Part of G1501 Shanghai Ring Expressway in northern Pudong New Area is concurrent with the third ring, the S20 Outer Ring Expressway, due to the nature of the coastline of Shanghai with the East China Sea.
Route
The kilometre zero of the Shanghai Ring Expressway is located at an interchange with S20 Outer Ring Expressway and Yixian Elevated Road in Baoshan District, and increase in a clockwise fashion. Immediately to the east of the interchange, the expressway descends into the Outer Ring Tunnel, so named because this section is concurrent with S20 Outer Ring Expressway. As the tunnel ends in Pudong New Area, it becomes an elevated highway for a short portion, curving southeast and then south, reaching the Wuzhou Avenue Interchange. Here, the concurrency with S20 Outer Ring Expressway ends, with the Outer Ring Expressway continuing to the south, Wuzhou Avenue to the west, while the Shanghai Ring Expressway continues east.

Anglo-Saxon mission
Anglo-Saxon missionaries were instrumental in the spread of Christianity in the Frankish Empire during the 8th century, continuing the work of Hiberno-Scottish missionaries which had been spreading Celtic Christianity across the Frankish Empire as well as in Scotland and Anglo-Saxon England itself during the 6th century (see Anglo-Saxon Christianity).
The Anglo-Saxon mission began in the last decade of the 7th century in Frisia, whence, Benedict reminded the monks he urged to come to the continental missions, their forebears had come: "Take pity on them, for they themselves are now saying, 'We are of one blood and one bone with you.'" The missions, which drew down the energy and initiative of the English church, spread south and east from there. Almost immediately the Anglo-Saxon missionaries came in contact with the Pippinids, the new dominant family in Frankish territories. The earliest monastery founded by Anglo-Saxons on the continent is Willibrord's Abbey of Echternach (698), founded at a villa granted him by a daughter of Dagobert II. Pepin II, who wished to extend his influence in the Low Countries, granted free passage to Rome to Willibrord, to be consecrated Bishop of Frisia; Norman F. Kingdom of England
The Kingdom of England i/ˈɪŋɡlənd/ was a sovereign state on the island of Great Britain from the 10th century—when it emerged from various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms—until 1707—when it was united with Scotland to form the Kingdom of Great Britain.

What we now call the A30 stretched from London to Land’s End and was the route stagecoaches took to the south west. But it was also the haunt of highwaymen who robbed passengers of their riches. Nowadays things are very different. The A30 is still vital to the region, but today’s journeys are much safer and smoother. In the summer months, Cornwall gets busy as tourists head to beaches and attractions like the Eden Project and Land’s End. Over the years we’ve upgraded parts of the A30 to dual carriageway. The Chiverton to Carland Cross project is our latest scheme, designed to ease congestion and help the local economy to grow.

That's it. After four years, a global pandemic, a scorching summer and far too much rain, closures, a six-month delay and lengthy diversions, the A30 is finally open. The 8.7 mile former bottle neck between Carland Cross and Chiverton Cross is no more. Instead, a brand new £330m dual-carriageway has replaced it, its tarmac all shiny and clean. National Highways and its contractor Costain said ancillary work will continue for the next six months to finish off access roads, slip roads, junctions, bridges and tunnels, signage as well as a few more miles of Cornish hedges and all the planting that still needs to be done, but all in all, you can drive from Carlisle to Camborne at 70mph before the road drops back to one lane for the last 15 miles or so to Penzance. A new underpass on the A30 which is part of the work to replace the notorious Chiverton Cross roundabout is so confusing it's an accident waiting to happen, it is claimed. At the weekend, Chivvy, as it was affectionately known, was removed as part of the £330m A30 dualling work currently underway. In this video we also have footage of the mine shaft adit that's been reported in the news from a reported former Tin mine in the area of the new A30 Link Road, this mine adit would have been right under where the existing road surface would have been, before it was diverted by a few feet so that the old road surface could be torn up and the area cleared and built up for the new road surface not yet laid. The latest installment of the ongoing progress of the A30 Victoria to Stenalees Link road construction project, September 2024.
In this video we also have footage of the mine shaft adit that's been reported in the news from a reported former Tin mine in the area of the new A30 Link Road, this mine adit would have been right under where the existing road surface would have been, before it was diverted by a few feet so that the old road surface could be torn up and the area cleared and built up for the new road surface not yet laid.
During the earth moving process which has seen the sub surface geology drilled and broken up down to a depth of around 30 feet, and now exposing the mine adit in the process.
We now have the section of road from the newly opened Trezaise road junction down to the Trezaise Roundabout now opened, and have the original road from opposite Combellack Vehicle Recyclers closed leading down to the Whitemoor stretch of road, and the Greensplat road which is due to be closed for around 3 weeks at some point to allow the contractor to create the new stetch realigned of road leading from the new Trezaise Roundabout, and which will enable the construction of the new road to continue onwards towards Hensbarrow over bridge and onwards to Stenalees.

In this video you can drive along on the A30 and A1 motorways from Ede to Amersfoort in the Netherlands. The distance driven in this video is about 30 kilometers.
The A30 is kind of an odd motorway, once upgraded from its original state as an expressway. It starts at the A12 (South) and flows into the A1 (North). It serves both Ede and Barneveld, both slightly larger places in the area.
The A1 is a high traffic motorway that runs from Amsterdam to the border with Germany in the East of the Netherlands at Enschede. In the East of the Netherlands the A1 is overdue for an upgrade (lane expansion). From the junction with the A6 in Almere the A1 becomes a true super highway with 2 x 5 lanes until the ring road of Amsterdam. Because of the 2 x 2 alignment until junction Hoevelaken at Amersfoort, there is traffic almost every day here during the rush hours.

What we now call the A30 stretched from London to Land’s End and was the route stagecoaches took to the south west. But it was also the haunt of highwaymen who robbed passengers of their riches.
Nowadays things are very different. The A30 is still vital to the region, but today’s journeys are much safer and smoother. In the summer months, Cornwall gets busy as tourists head to beaches and attractions like the Eden Project and Land’s End.
Over the years we’ve upgraded parts of the A30 to dual carriageway. The Chiverton to Carland Cross project is our latest scheme, designed to ease congestion and help the local economy to grow.

That's it. After four years, a global pandemic, a scorching summer and far too much rain, closures, a six-month delay and lengthy diversions, the A30 is finally open. The 8.7 mile former bottle neck between Carland Cross and Chiverton Cross is no more.
Instead, a brand new £330m dual-carriageway has replaced it, its tarmac all shiny and clean. National Highways and its contractor Costain said ancillary work will continue for the next six months to finish off access roads, slip roads, junctions, bridges and tunnels, signage as well as a few more miles of Cornish hedges and all the planting that still needs to be done, but all in all, you can drive from Carlisle to Camborne at 70mph before the road drops back to one lane for the last 15 miles or so to Penzance.
Local residents and holidaymakers have already been driving on parts of the A30 as various trunks have opened in the last two years. But it was always single-lane and lined with traffic cones. Until yesterday (Monday, June 24), you didn't travel along the A30 between Carland Cross and Chivvy. You crawled along at top speeds of 30mph. At times it was so slow you could have walked faster.

A new underpass on the A30 which is part of the work to replace the notorious Chiverton Cross roundabout is so confusing it's an accident waiting to happen, it is claimed. At the weekend, Chivvy, as it was affectionately known, was removed as part of the £330m A30 dualling work currently underway.
A new underpass, not too dissimilar to the roundabout at Indian Queens, is now in use with motorists having to use the new feature as the main road until the dual carriageway is complete above, including a new flyover at Chiverton Cross.

We now have the section of road from the newly opened Trezaise road junction down to the Trezaise Roundabout now opened, and have the original road from opposite Combellack Vehicle Recyclers closed leading down to the Whitemoor stretch of road, and the Greensplat road which is due to be closed for around 3 weeks at some point to allow the contractor to create the new stetch realigned of road leading from the new Trezaise Roundabout, and which will enable the construction of the new road to continue onwards towards Hensbarrow over bridge and onwards to Stenalees.

In this video you can drive along on the A30 and A1 motorways from Ede to Amersfoort in the Netherlands. The distance driven in this video is about 30 kilometers.
The A30 is kind of an odd motorway, once upgraded from its original state as an expressway. It starts at the A12 (South) and flows into the A1 (North). It serves both Ede and Barneveld, both slightly larger places in the area.
The A1 is a high traffic motorway that runs from Amsterdam to the border with Germany in the East of the Netherlands at Enschede. In the East of the Netherlands the A1 is overdue for an upgrade (lane expansion). From the junction with the A6 in Almere the A1 becomes a true super highway with 2 x 5 lanes until the ring road of Amsterdam. Because of the 2 x 2 alignment until junction Hoevelaken at Amersfoort, there is traffic almost every day here during the rush hours.

A30 road
The A30 is a major road in England, running south-west from London to Land's End. It is 284 miles (457 km) long.
The A30 used to provide the most direct route from London to the South West; nowadays much of this function is performed by the M3 motorway and the A303 road. However, the section from Honiton to Land's End retains trunk road status, and is a dual carriageway for most of its length.

The A30 begins at Henlys Roundabout, a junction with the A4 near Hounslow. It runs along the south side of Heathrow Airport, then past Ashford and Staines-upon-Thames, before reaching the M25 motorway. This first section is entirely dual carriageway.
After crossing the M25, the A30 runs parallel to the M3 all the way to Basingstoke, bypassing Egham and passing through Bagshot, Camberley, Hartley Wintney and Hook.
Just west of Basingstoke, at junction 8 of the M3, the A303 begins. The A30 runs parallel to this road all the way to just north-east of Honiton, passing through Stockbridge, Salisbury, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Yeovil, Crewkerne and Chard.
