The Age of Discovery: A Complete Overview
The Age of Discovery is a journey through the era of European exploration during the Early Modern period, from around 1500 to 1800. It is divided into 5 main parts. The first is the continuation of the spread of Islam in Southeast Asia and Africa. We then take a look at the early expeditions of the Portuguese, including Vasco da Gama in India, further voyages to Malacca and the Spice Islands, and the voyages of the Spanish, under Christopher Columbus. Afterwards, we go over the beginnings of colonization in each region, starting with the Americas and the end of the Aztec and Inca Empires, and the establishment of the Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, and Dutch colonies, as well as the pirates of the Caribbean in the Golden Age of Piracy. We then shift focus to Africa, and how the Songh...

The Age of Exploration: Crash Course European History #4
The thing about European History is that it tends to leak out of Europe. Europeans haven't been great at staying put in Europe. As human beings do, the people of Europe were very busy traveling around to trade, to spread religion, and in a lot of cases to try and conquer other people. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Europeans developed a bunch of tools and techniques that would allow them to travel around the world, in numbers and force heretofore unseen on the planet. And a lot of the results weren't great for the people who already lived in the places Europeans were "visiting."

Age of Discovery - European Exploration
#AgeOFfDiscovery #EuropeanExploration #Europe #Asia #Ameica
The Age of Discovery arguably began in the early 15th century with the rounding of the feared Cape Bojador and Portuguese exploration of the west coast of Africa, while in the last decade of the century the Spanish sent expeditions far across the Atlantic, where the Americas would eventually be discovered, and the Portuguese discovered a sea route to India. In the 16th century, various European states funded expeditions to the interior of both North and South America, as well as to their respective west and east coasts, north to California and Labrador and south to Chile and Tierra del Fuego.

The Renaissance and Early Modern Times were the periods when Europeans desperately tried to gain more influence. Stories of distant, wealthy lands pushed sailors, explorers, and thieves to venture into the unknown, only to end up fighting for discovered territories with locals and amongst themselves later. In this video, we will explain how England, France, Spain, and Portugal were colonizing the then-unknown New World.

The Age of Discovery began in the early part of the 15th century and carried on through most of the 17th century. It is sometimes also referred to as the Age of Exploration. This was a time when the people of Europe began to travel, discover, and explore more of the world than ever before, mapping and naming the places they found. They bravely went out on the seas to learn about the world, often never sure if they would find anything at all, let alone ever return home.
