Yakou Jouichi (夜行 丈一, Yakō Jōichi; "Jouichi Yakou") is one of Kakerou's S-ranked sweepers, as well as one of Leader's attendants. He is the twin brother of Yakou Hikoichi.
Appearance[]
Jouichi is an older gentleman with grey hair, a well kempt moustache and eyebrows which curl at the outer sides. As expected of a twin brother, he appears almost identical to Hikoichi; they have differing hairstyles and Jouichi has a scar that runs diagonally across his face (from above his right eye all the way down to the side of his left cheek).
Personality[]
Similar to his twin brother, Yakou is always ready to kill, and gladly performs his "cleaning" duties when necessary though he seems more ruthless
History[]
The day that Kyara was presented as a Kakerou Referee, Yakou confronted him and was slashed across his face by Kyara's hand. The fight was stopped prematurely when Nowa Mitoshi told Yakou to step back because Sweepers were not supposed to fight Referees.[citation needed]
Plot[]
Old Maid Arc[]
He appeared with Leader because the latter wanted to observe referee Mekama and judge him about the rumors of him helping Sadakuni by being biased.
Aside from killing Sadakuni's companion, he started fighting Yakou Hikoichi because his brother stopped him from collecting Usogui's life as requested by Leader. Jouichi stopped after Leader told him he didn't want them to fight all out over such a capricious demand.
On their way out, Leader and Jouichi came across Kyara, with Yakou reminding Kyara that he would personally end him.
IDEAL's Emergence Arc[]
Jouichi appeared in the nick of time to help Mizue Yuuko in the meeting against Billy Craig. He briefly fought Billy until the police arrived, before escaping with his comrades.
Labyrinth Arc[]
Yakou suspected Kyara's relation with Usogui since the Hangman Game. Guessing that he could be helping Usogui while Usogui was playing the Labyrinth Game, Yakou followed Kyara and ended up in a "fatal 3-way" with Billy and Kyara. The battle ended when Amako's men shot and seemingly killed Billy.
Tower of Karma Arc[]
Yakou was sent to the Emperor Tower to stop the SAT from entering the tower and fought 1-on-1 with Randou Kouhei twice. The first time, Yakou lost because Hyougo interfered by falling from above, allowing Randou to take advantage of the situation by punching him so hard he fainted. The second time, Yakou managed to cut Randou's ears and hit him so much that Randou ended up on the floor.
After that, Jouichi stood by until the end of the Kakerou match going on above. When Usogui eventually won the Kakerou match, Jouichi and Mizue went inside the tower to watch the impending ranking battle between Kiruma Tatsuki and Yakou Hikoichi.

Jouchi has proven to possess greats skills in martial arts and was capable to knock down a grown man with a single kick. During this same time, he was seen performed an axe kick without any difficulty, showing his flexibility.
Relationships[]
- Yakou Hikoichi: They both maintain a rivalry and won't hesitate to fight against one another, as seen during the Old Maid Arc.
- Kiruma Souichi:
- Tatsuki Kiruma: Tatsuki is one of the only people Yakou will use polite speech towards, indicating immense respect towards him. Even after Tatsuki steps down as Leader, Yakou still refers to him with the "sama" honorific.
- Kyara: Yakou holds a grudge towards Kyara for giving him his face scar. He claims he will be the one to purge Kyara.
