It seemed appropriate to end the year with an ensemble inspired by Spy Girl Anne's prompt of 52-pick-me-up-holiday-ornaments aka mixed metallics.
The retro necklace was purchased with a $15 gift card I won earlier in the month at Vapor Thrift. The Marjorie Baer star clip-on earrings were a gift from my mom.
The gold lame Sag Harbor blouse is a thrift shop find from year's past. The Forever Twenty One black skirt with gold threading was a recent thrift shop find ($2.50) chosen specifically for this prompt.
I am also celebrating with Lauren Slade of Style-sessions-fashion-link-up-50th-edition-with-rain-bows
Updating to linkup with Patti's Visible Monday at Notdeadyetstyle.
Even though I missed out on the uber dress-ups for the corporate Christmas parties, I can still shine like an ornament! See you in the New Year ~

Zat You Santa Claus?
Decorating with tissue paper was all the rage back in the late 60s.
The Avon trees and Lefton Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers were tucked away in a box that I recently discovered on a visit to my mom.
Lefton ceramic of holly leaves and berries now my Christmas pin holder.
Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Kitschmas!

Girls, girls, girls

What I'm listening to - Barbra Streisand Christmas Memories. Being a lifelong Barbra fan, this CD was a cool, fresh breath of air. Each track was unique (with the exception of Ave Marie, a delight unto itself). This one is a keeper.

Blue and Green Day
Blue and green were the "IT" colors back in the late 60s. I still remember the wall to wall carpeting we had in our house.

Homespun and craphty
1960s tablescape in the ever-popular blue and green
Pine cone bear, an idea for the craphty types.
On the subject of crafty, this manger scene I discovered packed away in the rafters of my mom's shed. These paper mache figures were made by my brother some 40+ years ago.
You too can be "homespun."

Purple royale
Spy Girl Anne's prompt of "Purple-royale" inspired me to this ensemble. I have so appreciated her weekly prompts that are truly "pick me ups." I wouldn't have thought to look for purple, a gorgeous color in a garment.
Hat, necklace and scarf (borrowed from the mamacita)
Sag Harbor jacket ($3.50 thrifted)
Charter Club button up plum cashmere sweater (retail)
Rafaella knit pants (thrifted)
BCBG half boots (retail)
This lovely jacket was my recent thrift shop find specifically for this prompt.
A girl's gotta have PRODUCTS, if only they were at 1951-1952 prices!
And you can't forget stockings ~
What I'm Listening to - Elvis Presley It's Christmas Time.
Purple tree lights are my absolute favorite!

Dino Day
What do dinosaurs have to do with Christmas? Absolutely nothing ... but as evidenced by my blog header, absolutely everything to do with Kitschmas!

This fashion find was offered on Ebay.
If you like to wear your dinos around your neck, this little fella was listed on Etsy.
I also discovered Dinovember at Medium.com. It is a couple who devote the month of November convincing their children that, while they sleep, their plastic dinosaurs come to life.
WHY is that mother smiling in that picture? As a mother, I know that giving your child a large stuffed dinosaur will only mean trying to find ways to make it disappear after it becomes yet another thing (large thing) laying around the child's bedroom.
What I'm listening to - A Very Special Christmas 5. This CD has a couple of bawdy songs, sorta double entendre kinda stuff, like Backdoor Santa by B.B. King and John Popper and Little Red Rooster by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
