Hunger is a gameplay mechanic that is only present in Constant worlds. It is a debuff that appears immediately after world creation. It does not have actual effect at first, but will turn into a debuff that reduce the player's stats, and eventually makes the player continuously lose health if no actions are taken.
If food items are consumed while the debuff is active, it will disappear for the duration of the food buff.
At the beginning of each stage, a corresponding emote will appear.
Stages[]
- The first stage of Hunger is Peckish, which lasts 8 minutes.
- In the second stage, the player becomes Hungry, which lasts 8 minutes and causes the following effects:
- -2 defense
- -5.1% damage
- -5.1% melee speed
- The final stage is Starving, during which players lose health equal to 2% of their max health per second and all positive health regen is nullified. It lasts until they consume any food item or die.

- The icons of these debuffs are based on the Hunger icon from Don't Starve.
