MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Russian embassies in Niger, Sierra Leone and South Sudan will become "windows to Russia" for the citizens of these countries interested to learn about life in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said in a commentary.
"We are fostering direct interaction between people in our countries on which long-term cooperation between Russia and Africa is founded. It is important to create comfortable conditions for the activation of business contacts. The first step in this work is opening embassies which, in addition to giving shape to the expansion of our diplomatic presence in Africa, become ‘windows to Russia’ for the people of these countries interested in our country," he noted.
"I am sure that our diplomats who will arrive for service in Niger, Sierra Leone and South Sudan will professionally contribute to the development of trade and economic and cultural and educational ties between our countries," the official added.
Earlier, the Russian government decreed to resume the operations of Russian embassies in Niger and Sierra Leone and establish an embassy in South Sudan.
