NEW YORK, December 29. /TASS/. Russian chess grandmaster Yekaterina Lagno has come third at the FIDE World Rapid Championship 2024 in New York.
Lagno scored eight points in 11 rounds.
India’s Koneru Humpy won the event with 8.5 points, and China’s Ju Wenjun came second (eight points).
Russian and Belarusian chess players have been taking part in FIDE events as neutrals since February 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
