Survivor[]
Marissa was placed on the Tadhana tribe since she was the niece of Gervase Peterson. At the first impressions vote she was the only one who revealed voting against Brad Culpepper, with five Tadhana tribe members voting against Laura Boneham (who voted against Marissa) which was enough to vote Laura B. out. Marissa helped build the camp along with the rest of the tribe.
At the Immunity Challenge on Day 3, Marissa was part of the running/swimming team. Tadhana gained an early lead due to Marissa's uncle Gervase struggling. Despite their early lead, Tadhana lost the challenge due to Katie Collins, Ciera Eastin, and Caleb Bankston struggling on the puzzle portion of the challenge. Back at camp Marissa assumed the tribe was voting for Katie since she cost them the challenge. Although Katie was perceived as weak, the Tadhana Men's Alliance targeted Marissa due to Gervase boasting about Galang's challenge win. At Tribal Council Marissa was shocked to find out she was voted off just to teach Gervase a lesson. Marissa was sent to Redemption Island by a unanimous 8-1 decision.
Marissa joined Rupert Boneham and Candice Cody on Redemption Island who gave her a warm welcome. Marissa told them the reason why she was voted out was to spite her uncle, but Candice disagreed, thinking the reason she was voted out was because she called Brad out on Day 1.
At the first duel, Marissa expressed hostility towards her former tribe upon being voted out. Gervase opted not to switch places with her, telling her to "handle your biz". Competing in the first Redemption Island duel, Marissa placed second behind Candice, eliminating Rupert and keeping Marissa in the game. During the next duel, Marissa, along with fellow inhabitants, Candice and Rachel Foulger, entered the arena. Marissa then got into a fight with Brad Culpepper about voting out their tribes strongest players. After Brad told her that's the way the game goes, this resulted in Marissa snapping and shouting "F*** you Brad Culpepper" to Brad, before the duel started, which promoted her Uncle Gervase warning her to "Tone it down". During the duel, Marissa got into a lead, but after the time skip, Candice caught up and eventually finished first. Due to the extremely high temperature, Marissa said she couldn't continue, but Gervase told her to get it done. Rachel was almost ready to tip her blocks, but Marissa tipped it first. After a close race, Rachel's stopped and Marissa's kept on going, keeping her in the game and eliminating Rachel.
When John Cody showed up to Redemption Island at night, John said it was good he and wife Candice were reunited, but Marissa told them not to get too comfortable on Redemption Island. In the next duel, Candice and Marissa competed against John. Despite Marissa sharing an early advantage with John, after John finished the puzzle, Marissa began to get frustrated, and Candice's methodical approach helped her catch up. In the end, Candice finished before Marissa, and Marissa was eliminated in seventeenth place.
