Across the plains of Naboo, these creatures have been recorded to travel in herds that could contain millions of them. While being adept at running on land, kaadu are also very strong swimmers, possessing the ability to stay underwater for up to two hours. Because of their amphibian-like qualities, kaadu feel at home building their nests in both muddy swamps and in grassy plains. Females are known to lay one hundred to two hundred and fifty eggs at a time. In a tradition that has existed for generations, breaking in and taming a kaadu is seen as an important Gungan rite of passage.
