Once banished from his home, the Gungan city of Otoh Gunga, Jar Jar Binks returns with Queen Amidala to establish an alliance between the Gungan and the surface world of Naboo, after years of animosity and segregation. Boss Nass, giving him all the credit for the meeting, appoints Binks the rank of Bombad General. During the Battle of Naboo, he and his Gungan army lead the Trade Federation droids away from Theed in order for the attack on the Droid Control Ship to commence. Holding position on the Great Grass Plains, and in the midst of defeat, the Control Ship is destroyed by a young Anakin Skywalker, disabling the droid army.
