WED-9-M1[1] was a model of droid visually similar to the WED Treadwell repair droid. A WED-9-M1 was present in the spaceport of Mos Eisley on Tatooine[1] in 0 BBY.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The WED-9-M1 first appeared in the 1977 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The droid was first identified in "Every Droid in Star Wars" a video released in 2019 by the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel.[1] The name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was originally used by the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[3]
