- "You know that I don't like clones—I like Faie even less."
- ―Quinlan Vos
Faie was a clone trooper commander who served in the Grand Army of the Republic under Jedi Generals Oppo Rancisis, Quinlan Vos, and others, during the height of the Clone Wars. Commander Faie served within the 7th Legion, as well as his own battle group during the Battle of Kashyyyk.
Biography[]
Siege of Saleucami[]
Grown on the planet Kamino from the DNA of the prime clone Jango Fett, the basis of the clone trooper army,[1] Faie was one of the first hundred clone trooper commanders put through ARC trooper Alpha-17's training program.[2] Commander Faie served during the Siege of Saleucami under the leadership of multiple Jedi Generals including Oppo Rancisis, Aayla Secura, and Quinlan Vos. Faie served alongside Marshal Commander CC-5052 "Bly" and his 327th Star Corps,[6] as part of its 7th Legion,[2] along with the 91st Mobile Recon Corps and its Marshal Commander CC-8826 "Neyo."[7]
During the five month siege, Commander Faie was stationed at the Republic base and had ensured that General Rancisis's quarters were ready. Faie was present outside when the Separatist Alliance's forces assassinated the general.[8] Eventually, the Republic emerged victorious on Saleucami when the Morgukai Shadow Army cloning facilities were destroyed by an orbital bombardment from the Republic fleet and the death of the Dark Jedi Sora Bulq.[9]
Battle of Kashyyyk[]
Following the Siege of Saleucami, Faie was dispatched to the Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk[10] and placed in command of a battle group that was composed of a battalion of clone scout troopers from the 501st Legion, a troop of clone commandos, and light aerial cavalry from the 7th Aleena Reconnaissance Regiment.[4] During Faie's time on Kashyyyk he was placed under the command of Quinlan Vos,[10] and worked with Jedi General Luminara Unduli and her 41st Elite Corps.[10]
Hunting the Jedi[]
When the Separatists moved against the city of Kachirho, Faie, Gree, and the Jedi were there to meet them. As the fighting for the city intensified, both Gree and Faie received Order 66 directly from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself. Acting without hesitation, Faie and his clone troops moved against Generals Vos and Unduli before they could catch wind of what was going on, though Vos escaped with his life. However, Commander Gree did not fare as well, as he was decapitated when he tried to sneak up on General Yoda. With the death of Gree, the burden of orchestrating the defense of Kashyyyk, as well as hunting down the surviving Jedi, fell upon Faie's shoulders.
Faie's search for the fugitive Vos took him and the clone troopers of Bogey Squad deep into the heart of Kashyyyk's thick forests, where he demanded that Vos reveal himself and face justice, or Faie would call in an orbital bombardment that would destroy himself, the Jedi and a nearby village of innocent Wookiees. Enraged that the clone would deliberately endanger innocents just to fulfill one objective, Vos leapt from the trees, lightsaber at the ready. Though Faie did manage to shoot the Jedi in the chest, the shot wasn't fatal. Vos beheaded the clone commander with a single stroke of his weapon.
Personality and traits[]
Commander Faie was the ideal clone that was envisioned by the cloners on Kamino and embodied by the vast majority of the Clone Army. Unlike some of his brethren, he showed little interest in developing himself as an individual and strictly maintained himself as—what all clones were created to be—a soldier bred to fight and die for the Republic. He followed orders without question, regardless of what they were. Faie's obedience was so extreme to the point where that held little to regard for his life or that of others. For instance, he was perfectly willing to kill himself and an entire Wookiee village via orbital bombardment just to fulfill Order 66 in eliminating his former superior officer, General Vos. He disliked the Jedi Order and did not hesitate to murder Jedi Master Luminara Unduli in compliance with Order 66, shooting her in the chest before she could defend herself. Faie's by-the-book personality often put him at odds with his Jedi superiors.
Equipment[]
Commander Faie, like other clone troopers, wore clone trooper armor. Faie wore multiple sets, including white phase II clone armor with the helmet of a clone engineer. The armor featured the markings of the 7th Legion, and he wore a white tunic and cape over his armor.[2] Faie additionally utilized another set of white phase II armor with the yellow markings of the 7th Legion's parent unit, the 327th Star Corps. In this armor, Faie was equipped with an orange pauldron, a beige kama, and dual pistol holsters.[10] For his operations on Kashyyyk, Faie adopted a standard green camouflaged set of clone scout armor.[3]
