The Crusade of Krath was a conflict featured in the quasi-historical Qel-Droma Epics. Taking place a millennium after the Great Hyperspace War, the epics said the crusade was led by the Krath, a dark side cult, against the Jedi Order from the Krath's command center in the Iron Citadel following a prior military coup by corrupt noble descendants in the Empress Teta system.[1]
At some point during the conflict, they slaughtered thousands of Jedi, including Ulic Qel-Droma's Jedi Master. Following his Master's death, Qel-Droma volunteered to infiltrate the Krath, but was corrupted by the dark side, taking over the cult alongside the fallen Jedi Exar Kun, forming a new Sith Empire with Empress Teta as it's stronghold. Qel-Droma was eventually redeemed after being cut off from the Force. While the inhabitants of Empress Teta presented the events of the Qel-Droma Epics, including the Krath's religious crusade, as historical fact, archaeological expeditions failed to verify the legends.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Crusade of Krath was first canonically mentioned in the 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Nexus of Power.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, this conflict was known as the Krath Holy Crusade where it was fought from 3997 to 3996 BBY between a Krath headed by Satal and Aleema Keto and an alliance of the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order.[3]
