Insubordination[]
On the Mid Rim world of Namzor, Governor Ahr commands an Imperial assault on several insurgents holed up over a coaxium depot. Ahr wants to use his Venator-class Star Destroyer to bomb the insurgents but Ahr's subordinate points out that doing so would destroy what they came for. Ahr orders his V-wing starfighters to retreat but Darth Vader ignores his orders and uses his starfighter to blow up the coaxium depot, killing the insurgents but destroying the valuable resource.
Later, Governor Ahr contacts Emperor Palpatine via hologram and complains that Vader turned up unannounced and destroyed the coaxium resources he was charged with securing. Ahr tells the Emperor that he ordered Vader to pull back. Vader claims the enemy was planning an escape and that he prevented that. The Emperor reminds his Sith apprentice that nobody else in the Empire outranks him but that he has to serve his will by obeying bureaucrats like the Governor. The Emperor orders Vader to kneel, which Vader obliges.
While kneeling, Vader experiences flashbacks of scrubbing floors for Watto, being denied a promotion to the position of Jedi Master, his duel with his former Master Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, and being struck with Force lightning by the Emperor following his reconstruction. The Emperor observes that Vader hates kneeling before his Sith master. Since the Governor knows his sector well, the Emperor orders Vader to obey all of the Governor's orders to the letter until he has learned his lesson. When Vader asks when will that be, the Emperor tells him that he will know and orders the Governor to carry on.
Serving the Governor[]
The Governor takes delight in Vader's humiliation. For their next mission, Ahr travels to Ahn Krantarium to suppress rebellious droids, who have run wild for decades. When his subordinate warns that tackling the droids will be a suicide run due to their danger, Ahr sends Vader on a suicide mission to quell the droids. Vader uses his lightsaber skills and Force powers to defeat the droids. Ahr is visibly disappointed that Vader survived.
Later, Ahr sends Vader and his stormtroopers to conquer the moon of Phelzepham. Due to fierce resistance from the insurgents, the Governor orders all troops except Lord Vader to retreat. Despite fierce resistance, Vader manages to subdue the insurgents and returns with a flaming cape to the Governor.
The space monster[]
Seeking to get rid of Lord Vader once and for all, the Governor orders his Star Destroyer to travel to the Kankalo Belt Containment Zone despite the objections of his subordinate officer. Ahr orders Vader to enter the asteroid field and destroy the greatest threat he can find. The subordinate officer tries to warn the Governor that it is Imperial policy not to disturb the space monster but is ignored. Vader flies towards the crustacean-like space monster and circles the creature. He then flies back to the Star Destroyer. The Governor is furious that Vader disobeyed his orders and summons him to the bridge.
He forces Vader to kneel. The Sith Lord complies but the space monster breaks through the viewport and grabs the Governor. The subordinate officer and several stormtroopers are sucked out into space. The Emperor praises Vader for learning his lesson while the surviving Imperial officers and stormtroopers kneel before Lord Vader.
