The Minecraft x SpongeBob Add-On is an add-on for the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Marketplace. It was released on August 20, 2024. This add-on was first announced via a post on the Minecraft Official Website[1] earlier in 2024.
The add-on features mobs, blocks, furniture, items, and vehicles based on SpongeBob SquarePants.
Description[]
"Are ya ready, kids? Bring SpongeBob and his friends into your worlds with this add-on!
Includes buildings, mobs, vehicles, weapons, tools, and all of your favorite friends and foes from the SpongeBob universe."
Gameplay[]
The add-on allows players to find various characters around their world, complete their quests to unlock building blueprints, Craft and Place furniture themed after their locations, Fight bosses based on the villains in the series, and much more.
Main characters and missions[]
There are 13 characters with six of them being main characters with more sophisticated missions.
SpongeBob[]
First character available at spawn. He will request the player to find Gary, who has gone missing. After following his slime trail, the player finds him being attacked by a wolf. Killing the wolf completes the mission giving you the blueprint to SpongeBob's house and the character book.
Patrick[]
Patrick will request the player's help catching Jellyfish with him. After crafting a Jellyfish net, the player must collect 12 jellyfish to complete his mission. Upon finishing the mission, Patrick will give you access to the blueprint to his house and a bubble blower.
Squidward[]
Squidward needs a partner for his musical performance. Once one of four instruments (Clarinet, Trumpet, Drums, or Guitar) are created, a short minigame will play. Squidward will play a progressively more complicated sequence of long and short note. The player must repeat this sequence by quickly clicking for a short note, or holding down for a long note. A statue of Squidward along with his house are awarded to players that finish his quest.
Sandy[]
For her mission, a scallop has eaten Sandy's key to her treedome. Using a weapon or his/her fist, the player must attack and kill these Scallops (who will fight back) until they get the key. After receiving the key and ending the mission, the blueprint to her tree doom as well as Kah-rah-tay gloves are given as a reward.
Mr. Krabs[]
Mr. Krabs would like to increase his visitors to the Krusty Krab. In order to do that, the player must find Frozen Krabby Patties in bubbles. They must feed a Krabby Patty (obtained from using a furnace with a frozen patty) to 12 Anchovies. The restaurant blueprint and a Krabby Patty launcher is unlocked upon completion.
Mrs. Puff[]
Players will discover that Mrs. Puff has inflated and is hanging on to a Boatmobile in order not to float away. The player then has to follow where she floats off to while in the boat. Not being able to stay in the Proximity of her for over 10 seconds will cause the mission to fail. Her Boating School blueprint and the boat are obtained on completion.
Minor characters[]
These characters only request of the player to build their respected buildings for them using the blueprints.
Larry The Lobster[]
Larry the Lobster will need the player to build his gym.
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy[]
Both Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy would request for the Shady Shoals to be built
Pearl[]
Pearl will want Mr. Krabs' house built.
Harold, Margaret, and Grandma SquarePants[]
Harold, Margaret, and Grandma SquarePants are looking for a new place to build their house.
Bosses[]
There are four bosses in this add-on killing them will give the player one of three random items associated with them, one of them being a music track.
DoodleBob[]
DoodleBob will run around frantically with his magic pencil while summoning his minions. Hitting him enough time will make him drop his pencil which with drain his HP and erase part of him. After being erased one last time, his hand scurries away and a chest will give you his pencil, or a steering will to build his car.
King Jellyfish[]
King Jellyfish only attacks when provoked. During his battle he'll try to bounce on you while summoning angry jellyfish. Defeating him, causing him to flee, gives you his crown to attract more jellyfish, or a Jellyfish Glider.
The Flying Dutchman[]
The Flying Dutchman attacks you on his ship. Cannonballs are fired while he is flying his ship. After losing all of his health, he will fly away into the spirit realm. His loot from the chest includes a Dirty Sock to fight enemies with or a steeling wheel necessary for crafting a miniature version of his ship.
Plankton[]
Upon confronting him, Plankton will hop into a Karen mech and will attack you either by shooting you with Chum or making the mech's arms spin. He will be ejected into the sky when defeated and you'll get a blueprint to the Chum Bucket or a Chum Blaster
Furniture[]
There are over 200+ craftable pieces of furniture themed after the locations you unlock in this Add-On. The chairs, beds, lamps, and other items such as SpongeBob's alarm clock are completely functioning. Painty the Pirate is also a craftable in this Add-On.
Vehicles[]
7 vehicles can be crafted and obtained in the player's world. They include Flying Dutchman's ship, the doodle car, a boatmobile, a race boatmobile, The invisible boatmobile, The Patty Wagon, a seahorse with numerous colors and the rock from the episode "Pizza Delivery."
Music Tracks[]
There is a music player that plays tapes obtained by the player. There are six six craftable general music tapes and four special ones given by boss chests.
Food[]
There are three foods included with this add-on: Krusty Krab Pizza, Krabby Patties, and jellyfish jelly.

Trivia[]
- Bubble Bass makes an appearance as an NPC inside of the Krusty Krab.
- The incidentals (known as fish in the add-on) also appear in the Krusty Krab.
- Bubble Buddy is a creature that the player can find in the wild.
- Mayonnaise can be crafted as an Instrument
- Many elements from the Add-On are directly taken from the first collab world. This is because the same team (Spark Universe) developed this add-on.
- The player can't place blueprints underwater as the game glitches when the player does that.
