The high-powered team behind Marlowe, Park Tavern, the Cavalier, and Leo’s Oyster Bar, has refreshed and reopened its restaurant in Cow Hollow, making it — hopefully — a better fit for the yoga-clad and stroller-rolling neighborhood. The Greenwich, which the Big Night Restaurant Group opened earlier this year as Marlowe spinoff Cow Marlowe, is bustling back into business as of dinner tonight. Repainted white and nautically trimmed in navy and brass, it’ll be serving a family-friendly mix of salads, crispy chicken, oysters, and cocktails.
The new menu from executive chef Jennifer Puccio promises lighter options for families in the neighborhood. Cow Marlowe’s menu was very similar to the original Marlowe, with indulgent fried brussels and pork chops, but the new menu at Greenwich highlights bright dips, salads, chicken, and fish. To start, there’s an avocado dip with fried lemon “chips,” and a beet and farro salad with kale and feta. Crispy chicken comes in two forms, nuggets with sweet chili sauce or a thin Milanese with a tangle of arugula.
In keeping with its Big Night group siblings, the Greenwich features a stylish raw bar and strong cocktails. A “daily doubles” happy hours will swing early (4 to 6 p.m.) and late (after 10 p.m.), welcoming the Marina’s drinking crowd with collars popped. Marlowe’s popular burger remains in the mix, now joined a kid’s menu with cheeseburgers, veggie sticks, and frosted cookies. And it wouldn’t be Cow Hollow without brunch, at which the Greenwich will serve avocado toast, buttermilk pancakes, and a bagel board with smoked salmon and fixings.
The Greenwich redesign went from night to day: Replacing dark floors, black paint, and Persian rugs with a fresh coat of white paint, but kept a swirling blue marble bar and brass details. Partner Anna Weinberg says she was inspired by a vacation in preppy Montauk, and the beach theme comes through with maritime maps and flags and vintage illustrations of trout and redwoods.
The Greenwich is now serving dinner Wednesday to Friday starting at 5 p.m., and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The “daily double” happy hour is from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close. Reservations are available for dinner.
