Starting this Sunday, August 13, a new farmers market pilot program is coming right to the doorstep of Craftsman and Wolves’ Bayview location, AKA The Den, at 2250 Keith Street. The contemporary bakery from chef/owner William Werner, which started in the Mission before adding Nob Hill and Bayview locations, is taking the occasion to offer a new brunch menu to farmers market shoppers including hotcakes, Canadian bacon, and their beloved, soft-boiled egg-filled savory muffin known as “the rebel within.”
The Bayview farmers market, which is long awaited in the neighborhood, will be held at Yosemite Avenue and Keith Streets. It comes from the Pacific Coast Farmer’s Market Association, which organizes markets across the city, and the Bayview nonprofit Economic Development on Third. The market will run for five weeks on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and if it gets enough traction, will become permanent. The PCFMA promises produce like organic stone fruit and berries, pasture raised eggs, and freshly caught fish. EBT card shoppers will receive $10 matching discounts.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., meanwhile, The Den will serve a menu of short and tall stacks of classic, strawberry, and Valrhona chocolate chip hotcakes, ‘CAWnadian' bacon (black coffee brined smoked pork loin named in reference to the acronym for the business), and hash brown waffles with brown butter. More menu options are below. And because Werner himself is an avid motorcyclist, fellow riders get free drip coffee. Why not?
