Purple Hyacinth frequently uses background music and sound effects to amplify the mood for certain scenes, sometimes using two or even three different tracks in the same episode. The tracks are mainly played on the piano, although other instruments have been used for some of the soundtracks. They are all composed by co-creator Sophism, but many of the earlier tracks were produced by Isabella LeVan and A Million in Vermillion. Many of the music pieces used in Purple Hyacinth utilise a specific theme and subsequently only appear at certain plot points. Several tracks have appeared in the series multiple times.
