With Mailgun, you'll need to upgrade to a dedicated IP or "managed email service" and pay extra for "better deliverability." At Postmark, great deliverability isn't an up-charge. It's simply included, and we share live delivery data so you can judge for yourself.
With most providers, when deliverability issues arise, they suggest that paying more for a dedicated IP address will fix the problems. We believe that's an abdication of responsibility to ensure your emails reach customers every time. It’s our job to provide you with great deliverability with or without dedicated IP addresses.
Whether you send thousands of emails or millions of emails, you’ll see the same quality of deliverability across our entire service. You'll be hard-pressed to find a provider more willing to stand by the quality of their shared IPs than Postmark. If or when the time comes that a dedicated IP address makes sense, we'll set you up on one.
Like most providers, Mailgun offers an additional cost "Managed Email Service." At Postmark, we view these services as a fundamental responsibility we have to all of our customers. There's no up-charge for great support.
Customer feedback gathered through Help Scout over the past 60 days.
Everyone gets great support no matter how much you spend. You can use email, live chat (during business hours), call us, or even schedule time. You'll usually hear back in a couple of hours. If you’re having delivery problems, we’ll never just tell you to just give us more money and upgrade to a dedicated IP address. We’ll dive in and help you get to the bottom of things.
We also have comprehensive developer documentation and a centralized support center packed full of resources to keep you going when our support team is enjoying some well-earned downtime with their families.
Take a moment to meet our customer success team.
When it's time for troubleshooting, nobody logs and retains more helpful details about the event history and content of messages than Postmark.
While Mailgun provides 30 days of event history to paid accounts and 3 days of full content history, Postmark provides a full 45 days of both message events and full content rendering to all accounts (and retention can be customized from 7 to 365 days if needed). Never again have to wonder exactly what happened to an email when a customer emails support.
Save time getting started with our thoroughly documented, pre-built, and exhaustively tested email templates.
Postmark offers a full set of pre-built and exhaustively tested email templates to help you get started. For each of these templates, we've also written extensive guides about best practices for configuration, usability, engagement, copywriting, and more.
Whether you need more templates or just want to custom-build your own set of templates, we've built and open-sourced MailMason, a complete toolset to streamline building and updating a set of consistent transactional emails. It makes it easier build your emails by enabling you to use partials, automatically inline your CSS (or SCSS), test emails in Litmus, automatically generate text equivalents, and much more.
Okay @postmarkapp is amazing. Why has no one told me about this? Good riddance to all their competitors I've put up with for too long.
Postmark without question. High-quality product and unreal support. Dabbled with all over the years, and SendGrid/Mailgun were some of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in terms of both product and support.
Postmark every day. UX is great. Delivery is top-notch and super fast. I've also used Sparkpost and Mailgun and they just don't compare.
I came from Mailgun, which gave me headaches. Every second counts when we send an alert to gamers. I love the fact that I can see when mails are opened and how long the whole process took. It just works, which is not so obvious apparently (looking at Mailgun). Thanks Postmark Team <3 !
Using a completely free product and still getting great support from @postmarkapp. Two days and I haven't heard back from @Mail_Gun
At #Bokio we are now using @postmarkapp instead of @Mail_Gun. I really liked mailgun but we needed far better delivery as our emails are very critical.
I came from Mailgun and left because too many emails went missing. Now, my email shows up instantly for people and the amount of time I save on support requests is worth it. A+ quality service.
For outgoing transactional mail I strongly recommend Postmark. Had bad experience @ Mailgun and SendGrid with delivery.
Super customer support, on-boarding process especially incredible. Service 10/10. Struggled with other services like Mailgun — never again. Keep being awesome.
