Parmaggedon: Take a Look Around Parm Battery Park, Now Open in Brookfield Place

Torrents of red sauce and oodles of fresh mutz will flood downtown.

Today around lunchtime, Rich Torrisi, Mario Carbone and Jeff Zalaznick, AKA the Torrisi boys, finally unleashed their ever-popular red sauce palace Parm on downtown office folk. The large space at Brookfield Place is divided between a spacious take-out / deli counter, a lengthy L shaped bar, and a back dining room. It all sports the same look and feel of the other Parms around town, with its pressed tin ceiling, checkered tile floor, and red leather banquets. Like the Uptown location that debuted earlier this year, this outpost will be used as a model for what could be many future Parms.

Zalaznick tells Eater that this is the "next step in our evolution, there are lots of new and exciting things." That list of things includes complimentary fresh, warm mozzarella and garlic bread, at the beginning of each meal, a tradition and recipe carried over from their original Mulberry Street project Torrisi. There are also several new dishes including a roast beef and mozzarella sandwich named for the late and great Josh Ozersky. For dessert, pastry phenom Heather Bertinetti is offering key lime pie and new flavors for the restaurant's signature ice cream cakes, which can now be ordered to go. For those in the area, it might be a good idea to start dropping birthday hints to your co-workers right now.

Know before you go: Much of Parm's dining room is still closed off for the time being, but seating at the counter is open.
