We Ski (known as Family Ski in Japan and Europe) is a Wii skiing simulator video game published and developed by Namco Bandai. It is the second video game to make use of the Wii Balance Board and the first third party one to do so. If the player doesn't have a Wii Balance Board, then they can use the standard Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination without the board. Up to four people can play this game at once.

Gameplay[]

While on the board, players will also make use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as ski stocks. In all, there are fourteen different courses, each one requiring the player to ski down a mountain's slope while jumping off cliffs and performing tricks. If the player wishes, they can use their custom made Miis or premade characters that the developer created (which, like Miis, can also be customized). The player can also take pictures in the game, download them to the Wii Message Board, and send them to their friends via WiiConnect24.

Development[]

Mario series creator Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned the game in an interview when asked whether or not third party developers were making good use of the Wii Balance Board.
