Metroid Prime Remastered is a first-person adventure game by Retro Studios for the Nintendo Switch. It is a remaster of Metroid Prime. It was announced and digitally released on February 8, 2023.
Gameplay[]
Changes from Original[]
Most of the changes are visual with higher quality models and improved effects. It runs at 900p docked and 612p handheld, with a solid frame rate of 60 regardless. The game seems largely based on the Wii remake.
The game features 4 control options including the classic controls similar to the original GameCube release, pointer controls that behave similarly to Metroid Prime Trilogy, a hybrid control that includes gyro aiming with the classic controls and Dual Stick controls which use traditional first person shooter controls for aiming and moving. The game also features a Color Assist settings that help players with various kinds of colorblindness with additional options for intensity
Development[]
Retro Studios, Iron Galaxy Studios, and other developers[1] worked on remastering this game to the Nintendo Switch, though Retro Studios were still making Metroid Prime 4.
Reception[]
Like the original game, the received "universal acclaim", according to Metacritic.
