Metroid: Zero Mission (JP) is an action-adventure video game for the Game Boy Advance. It is part of the Metroid series, an enhanced remake of the original Metroid designed to "retell the story of Samus's original mission". Like the other titles in the series, it features intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran as the player-controlled main character. This game also saw the introduction of Zero Suit Samus, which is Samus Aran without the power suit for which she's famous.
Zero Mission was developed by Nintendo's internal team, Nintendo R&D1, under the direction of Yoshio Sakamoto. The game was released on February 9, 2004 in North America, on March 19, 2004 in Australia, and on April 8, 2004 in Europe, and on May 27, 2004 in Japan.
Plot[]
Samus is ordered by the Galactic Federation to defeat Mother Brain on planet Zebes. She goes throughout the planet and finds different upgrades to help her explore it. She also finds three mysterious Unknown Items that cannot be used right away. Once Samus has defeated Ridley and Kraid, the way to Tourian opens. Once she kills Mother Brain, a self destruct sequence activates and Samus escapes planet Zebes in her gunship. Shortly after escaping, the Space Pirates ambush Samus and she crashes back onto the planet. Having lost the ability to restore her Power suit, Samus must stealth her way through the recently landed Space Pirate Mothership to head to the Chozo ruins in Chozodia to find a new one. She makes it to a Chozo Ruins Test. After completing the test, Samus receives an older and more powerful Power Suit which can use the unknown items that Samus couldn't use before. Samus goes back through the Chozo ruins and Mothership to fight a Ridley Robot. Once she destroys the robot, a self destruct sequence activates and Samus must get out of the Mothership before it explodes! Samus finds an escape pod and manages to get out of the Mothership just in time.
The game ends and the credits are shown after this.
