Ash Ketchum and Pikachu in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!

The I Choose You! continuity is a Pokémon movie trilogy consisting of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, and Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, along with the special episode Distant Blue Sky!, features an alternate version of the characters and world from Pokémon the Series. As part of the Pokémon movies and anime specials, it is not considered directly part of the main anime, though it is closely related.

During the Pokémon Panel at San Diego Comic-Con in 2023, the trilogy is described as "the cinematic universe that Pokémon started with Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!.[1]

Plot[]

As with the main series, the movie trilogy follows Ash Ketchum as the main character. His story begins very similar to the Ash of the anime proper, oversleeping on his tenth birthday and ending up with a stubborn Pikachu as his First partner Pokémon that goes on to be his best friend. After catching some of the same Pokémon as his main series counterpart, Ash's story takes a different path leading him to meet a variety of different people and Pokémon and have his own adventures.
