Hatsune Miku (series)

A take on the main cast of Hatsune Miku's most recent game, Project Diva f 2nd.

Hatsune Miku is the property of Crypton Future Media, though lately has become a popular mascot for Sega. Hatsune Miku is one of, if the, best selling singing software, and the same applies to her game series, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. While mostly a Sony exclusive, Hatsune Miku has made her way onto the Nintendo 3DS thrice, as spin off titles. She was voiced by Saki Fujita in all her appearances.

Popularity and sales

Since her debut, Hatsune Miku has exploded into a world wide phenomenon and idol, with enviable sales throughout the globe. In Japan, her success is second to none, with sales of her first software towering over 1 million units. This, combined with the other Vocaloids, has resulted in the Vocaloids being the number 1 singers in Japan. Europe was also positive with Hatsune Miku, and in a recent poll, when asked who was the best singer, digital or alive, Hatsune Miku appeared as the most selected choice, toppling competition from even the likes of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. Hatsune Miku has even appeared on the David Letterman show. The States were not as enthusiastic, but regardless, Hatsune Miku's Project Diva hit the market by storm, toppling previous giants such as Dance Dance Revolution.

Project Voltage

In September 2023, a collaboration project between Pokémon and Hatsune Miku was announced, featuring 18 illustrations and 18 songs with music videos. The series continued in 2024 as Project Voltage High.
