Disney Infinity is an action/adventure game for the Wii U, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS that is based on various Disney and Pixar characters. It uses figures to select the play characters similar to Skylanders. The game was followed up by Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition, which included Marvel characters.
Gameplay[]
Disney Infinity is a action-adventure game. Players can either play through campaigns in their favorite Disney universes in Play Set Mode or play around in open world environments in Toy Box Mode.
Excluding characters from Cars, every character has a double jump, a set of attacks and a unique ability
Play Set Mode[]
The Playset mode are select campaigns unlocked by placing a respective franchise's figure on the Infinity Base. Only characters from that particular franchise can be played in the playset meaning two figures are required for splitscreen multiplayer. The campaigns include Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters University, The Incredibles, Cars, The Lone Ranger, and Toy Story.
Toy Box Mode[]
Toy Box Mode is a sandbox mode that allows players to create their own game in a limited space. Players are allowed to mix and match between Playsets. This mode features a few adventures to teach the player how to use it. By playing the game, players earn "spins" which unlock more items to use. In the Wii U version, this mode has online multiplayer which enables the other player to use the hosting player's unlocked items.
