Plaion is a media company based in Austria. It was formerly known as Koch Media and was established in 1994. It operates as a game distributor for Europe with 3 game publishing labels; Deep Silver, Prime Matter and Ravenscourt. Plaion was acquired by the Embracer Group in February 2018.
History[]
Koch Media was established as a software distributor in 1994, with offices in Germany, Austria and the UK. They expanded into Switzerland and Italy before they formed Koch Media Holding in 2000 to unite the branches. In 2002, Koch Media established Deep Silver to produce games that complemented their distributed titles. In 2015, they established the Ravenscourt label for simulation games including the Let's Sing franchise. In 2021, they established the Prime Matter label, which was more orientated around indie games. In 2022, they rebranded as Plaion.
