This is how we decorate the nursery 2024

Color trends in children’s room and nursery decoration can be quite fleeting, but in 2024 we expect to see a continued presence of blue and green, with strong accents in the details. Undulating shapes in everything from arches to scallop wavy edges on rugs, blankets and bedding.

We find inspiration from nature, French soaps, the 20s and vintage porcelain.

Earthy tones: Natural and calm colors inspired by nature, such as various shades of beige, terracotta, sand, oat and olive green. The colors tend more towards the warm than the cold direction. These colors create a harmonious and relaxed atmosphere.

Many shades of blue: From deep shades of blue, such as navy blue, indigo, klein, royal and midnight blue, to powdery dove blue, baby blue, gray blue to create a sense of calm and elegance in the interior. In the children’s room, we mostly use the strong colors as accents, but more and more will try bold colors on walls, ceilings and furniture as well.

Green in different shades: Greens remain popular, from soft pastels to deep emerald shades. Green is often associated with calm, plant life and sustainability.

For 2024, children’s room and nursery trends are expected to continue to evolve with a focus on sustainability, functionality and creativity. Here are some trends we welcome.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Furniture and furnishings that are versatile and can be adapted to children’s needs and ages, promoting sustainability and long-term use.

Playful design: Patterns and playful shapes that stimulate children’s imagination and creativity, which can be new color combinations, geometric patterns and imaginative character designs. We see more vaults in soft shapes,  tailor made built-in beds and bunkbeds. We will see more of painted ceilings and wallpaper on the ceiling in 2024.

Technology integration: Integrating technology in an educational and safe way, such as smart toys and interactive learning experiences. But for God’s sake, don’t forget to read to your children, that is, real, old-style non-technological books made of paper.

Sustainability and environmental awareness: Furnishing accessories and toys made from recycled materials and products that are eco-labeled to reduce environmental impact. We sincerely hope that soon there will be nothing else om the market. Do right or go home! Buying 2e hand and pre used is of course the trendiest. Products with a long life circle are products with the least environmental impact.
