うそんこ文書アンソロジーに掲載された40作品のタイトルとその分類＋α

（これは深夜に書類仕事に追われているかわいそうなペンギン）

『FAKES: An Anthology of Pseudo-Interviews, Faux-Lectures, Quasi-Letters, "Found" Texts, and Other Fraudulent Artifacts』（2012）というアンソロジーをだいたい読んだ。タイトルどおり、インタビューだの講義だの講演だの書評だのカタログだの手紙だの張り紙だの反省文だの説明書だの問題文だのとにかく、本来フィクションには用いられない、一定程度形式の定まっているテキストのパロディが40篇ほど収められている。日本でも去年SF界隈で『異常論文』（早川書房）が流行ったけれど、そういうのの範囲を更に拡張した欲張りなくくりです。

虚構手記文学や書簡体小説のような歴史ある鉄板ジャンルから、Amazon のレビュー欄や twitter のフィードのパロディまで、射程が広すぎる。日本の作家たちも「本来フィクション的でない」形式の小説を書くのが大好きなので、国産品も探せばいっぱい出てくるはずです。やんないけど。

所感

・正直、こうした形式のイミテーションみたいな小説にそこまで魅力的なものは少なくて*3、『FAKES』も読んでいてふ〜んみたいになるほうが多い。それでもフェイクテキストというコンセプトに惹かれてしまうのは、それがなにかフィクションの本質に近いところで遊んでいるような気がするからだろう。つまりは現実*4の悪質な模倣であり世界と読者と自分自身に対する詐欺行為、という。
　形式の定まったテキストはほとんどの場合において読者に対して明示的かつ直接的な形で作用してこようとする。たとえば、説明書はそこで説明される出来事について読者より優位な立場にあり*5、読者の行動を指示してくる。契約書は報酬（たいがいは金銭）と引き換えにひとつの人格に対してあらゆる制限を課してくる。迷いネコの張り紙は見たものの視界に「写真と似たようなネコに注意すべし」というタスクを追加し見つけ次第飼い主の電話番号に連絡するように誘う。手紙でさえ、「あなたとわたし」という閉じた関係における（パワー）ゲームを強要してくる。上から下へ流れようとする権力。
　小説も実はそれらのテキストと似たような卑怯をやっている。読者になんらかの形で取り憑き、操作しようとたくらんでいる。たくらんでいるのだけれど、表向きには、小説はオープンで自由で相互的で民主的ですよ〜、というフリをする。そこがまさしく詐欺だ。ゆるせねえよな。
　そうしたところに来て、フェイクテキストの形式はフィクションでないテキストの不自由さをフィクションが征服して解放してあげるという崇高な試みを演じながら、その実は強欲な形式同士による権力のつなひきにすぎない。でも形式と形式が読者を取り合うという三角関係の構図が珍奇といえば珍奇であり、フェイクテキスト文学のユニークなあじわいもそこにあるのかもしれない。ないのかもしれない。ない場合は「本来うそをつかないはずの形式で書かれているはずの文書にうそが書かれてるのっておもしろくないですか？」みたいな話になるのだが、まあでも八割はそれっぽくて、結局のところフェイクテキスト文学でおもしろいやつは形式と語りの内容が必然的に一致したときだ。そこができている作品はおもしろい。だいたいなそんな感じです。

・カメラは引けば引くほどエモいみたいな話は伴名練や小川哲や石黒達昌やチャールズ・ユウあたりにテクニカルに取り入れられているようで、まあでもわたしは詳しくないのでそういう話が得意な人に任せます。
