"Remember how to use these?"
"I won't need 'em.
"Yeah, you will."
Stick and Matt Murdock[src]

The Wooden Sticks are a pair of batons, used by Matt Murdock as a weapon.

History[]

Used by Matt Murdock[]

"You can keep the sticks. You're gonna need 'em."
Stick to Matt Murdock[src]

When Stick took Matt Murdock under his wing to make him a warrior, he had a combat training with Murdock with a pair of wooden sticks as weapons. As he successfully avoided his attacks, Stick threw those at Murdock to catch them and use against Stick. After the training, Stick took them away and after he found out that Murdock was not ready to fight his war, he left, taking the sticks with him.

Daredevil used the sticks to fight the Hand

Years later, Stick gave Murdock the sticks back, when they confronted the Hand to destroy the Black Sky. After preventing Stick from killing the Black Sky, Murdock used the sticks to fight against the Hand members. Murdock later used them against Stick himself, after he found out that Stick had killed the Black Sky, and managed to best his former trainer. Stick then left and told Murdock that he can keep the sticks for himself and that he will need them to fight.[1]

Daredevil uses the sticks to fight Nobu Yoshioka

When Murdock went to prevent Carl Hoffman from killing Christian Blake, Murdock used the sticks to incapacitate Hoffman, although not before he injected Blake.[2] Murdock later used the sticks in the fight with Nobu Yoshioka, deflecting the daggers that Yoshioka threw at him. Although Yoshioka was able to avoid Murdock's strikes, he managed to hit the lamp with the stick, igniting the flammable liquid Yoshioka was covered in. While Yoshioka was burning, Murdock was confronted by Wilson Fisk who beat him down and ordered James Wesley to finish him. In a last ditch effort, Murdock threw the stick to dislocate Wesley's gun and escaped, leaving the sticks behind.[3]
