This is an in-depth biography of Thor/Party Prince Thor. For an abridged overview, see Marvel Database's article on the same character.

Party on Midgard[]

Celebration with Humanity[]

"Citizens of Midgard... your dull lives are about to come to an end. Prepare yourselves... for the party prince!"
―Thor[src]

After Odin fell in the Odinsleep and Frigga left to visit her sisters to celebrate the solstice, Thor was left under Heimdall's supervision. However, Thor, along with Sif and the Warriors Three, secretly escaped Heimdall through Odin's Vault to travel to Earth. Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three arrived via the Bifrost Bridge in Las Vegas, Nevada startling the tourists. Thor announced himself as the "Party Prince" to ease the tourists' alarm and started a party. Thor then invited extraterrestrial beings from across the universe to attend.

Party Thor First Look

Thor met with a few Skrulls, who he asked if they could transform into his appearance, before he was greeted by Jane Foster. Foster wanted to ask him serious questions about his arrival, but was enticed by Thor to join his party. Thor introduced Foster to his friends and received tattoos with her. Later that night, Thor crashed in a nearby hotel room with Fandral, Rocket, Korg, and Foster before leaving for Paris, France. In Paris, Thor met with Loki and other Frost Giants and witnessed what they thought was a shooting star. However, it ended up being Captain Marvel.[1]

Brawl with Captain Marvel[]

"The name is Thor, with a "T" and an "R" and an "O" and a "H." But not in that order."

Danvers demanded Thor to leave Earth and end his planet-wide party. Thor refused, calling her a party pooper, and engaged in a fight. After Thor got the upper hand using Mjølnir and blasted Danvers to the Stonehenge, he arrived and out of petty spite, knocked the structures over. Danvers then struck him, sending him flying back into New Mexico.

Thor vs. Carol Danvers

In the desert, they fought with Thor trying to blast Danvers with lightning from Mjølnir, but she absorbed the energy using her powers. The two then engaged in aerial fighting and travelled across the world, landing back in Paris. Upon arriving, Thor placed Mjølnir on Danvers' chest, preventing her from getting up, and successfully defeating her.[1]

Cleaning Up The Planet[]

Afterwards, Thor travelled to Sydney, Australia and was about to slide down the Sydney Opera House to impress his friends, when he was caught by Danvers who brought him to Siberia. As the two were about to fight again, Frigga appeared as a projection, informing him that Foster had contacted her. He tried to convince her he was home, but the passing polar bear revealed he was on Earth. He then told her he was there to study, but she said she would be coming to see his progress in his "studies". Now worried, Thor asked for Danvers' help in hiding his mess, but she suggested he start in the corners and clean out.

Arriving back in Sydney, Thor told his friends, such as Drax and Nebula, that he needed their help to clean up, but they decided to leave instead. In a panic, Thor summoned his power and projected his voice to them telling them that his mother was on the way. This prompted his friends to begin a hastened and thorough attempt to clean up their mess and repair the damage that resulted from the blowout. By the time Frigga arrived, Thor was in Italy standing in front of the Warriors Three and a few others, pretending to be studying. Danvers arrived as well, and to his relief, she went along with the façade. Frigga began to believe him, until he summoned Mjølnir, revealing that it was covered in graffiti, beads, and a pair of boxers, exposing what happened.

Afterwards, Thor travelled back to New Mexico and visited Foster at her van. He was then prompted by her to ask her out on a proper date. However, as they said goodbye, a portal opened up before them, with an army of robots and their leader wielding the six Infinity Stones walking through.[1]

Battle for the Multiverse[]

Invasion in Las Vegas[]

Thor vs. Ultron Sentry (What If)

"We were about to go on a date! There were going to be flowers, and I was going to light candles, and I was going to shower and do my hair! Nobody messes with Vegas! Have at you! And you!"
―Thor to Ultron Sentries[src]

The Ultron Sentries invaded Thor's universe and travelled to Las Vegas, the area with a large population closest to the desert. Thor fought them off, defending Las Vegas, while complaining how they effectively ruined his date with Foster. After nearly defeating all of them, Thor was found by the Watcher and snatched out of his universe.[2]

Joining the Guardians of the Multiverse[]

Watcher and the Guardians of the Multiverse

Thor and the Guardians of the Multiverse being briefed by Watcher

Thor was transported to a dimension outside of time and space constructed by Strange Supreme in the form of a bar. Thor then asked Strange for a beer and met the others present: Captain Carter, Star-Lord T'Challa, Gamora, and Erik Killmonger. Thor was then startled again after the Watcher appeared abruptly before them. The Watcher explained to them Ultron's quest to conquer the Multiverse and Strange explained the Infinity Stones to them. Afterwards, the Watcher referred to them as the Guardians of the Multiverse.

Doctor Strange Supreme and Party Thor

After making a plan, Thor and the Guardians were transported to another universe on an uninhabited planet. While there, Gamora asked Thor if he trusted Killmonger, in which he replied that he trusted everyone. Strange then provided drinks for them and Thor used Mjølnir in excitement, inadvertently alerting Ultron to their location. Strange supplied Thor and the others with a protection spell as Ultron broke into the universe. Thor attacked Ultron using his lightning but Ultron absorbed the energy and proceeded to try to kill them. As the other Guardians escaped, Thor and Strange remained behind, and Thor witnessed Strange conjure a Inter-Dimensional Portal from another universe, summoning zombies to overwhelm Ultron.[2]

Thor and Strange then escape through the portal to Ultron's home universe, where they and the others meet Black Widow, who agrees to fight with them against Ultron, when he then arrives. Thor and the others fight Ultron, at which he blasts Ultron with a massive amount on him, but to no avail. After the Infinity Crusher was used on Ultron, Thor asked if it was over, but Ultron then appeared. When Ultron was unleashing the full power of the Infinity Stones to kill Strange, Thor was barley able to keep his ground due to the amount of power but was saved when Black Widow was able to shoot an arrow containing Arnim Zola into Ultron's eye where Zola effortlessly killed Ultron and stopping his reign of terror. After the fight Thor recovered from the shocking blow.

Guardians of the Multiverse

Thor and the Guardians upon successfully defeating Ultron, Zola and Killmonger

However tensions resurfaced when Killmonger used Ultron's Infinity Armor to acquire the Infinity Stones. As Thor and the rest of the Guardians prepared to face him, Killmonger used the Stones to unleash their true power against them. But Zola, who now has complete control over Ultron's former body to try and take the stones from himself. This resulted in both of them getting into a deadlock for the stones while Strange encased them into a pocket dimension. With the Multiverse secured, Thor and the rest of the Guardians retuned to the pub pocket dimension to celebrate their success.

Returning to his Universe[]

Following the battle, Watcher congratulated Thor and the Guardians of the Multiverse for saving the Multiverse from Ultron and said that the pub's door would bring them back to their home universes at the exact moment they left. Thor crossed the door and, when he came back, he reunited with Jane Foster and they joyfully hugged each other.[2]

Personality[]

"My father has ruled Asgard for centuries. And, look, the most interesting thing that he’s ever done is fall asleep. He only cares about duty and blah-blah-blah-blah responsibility. Well, I'm not gonna be like him, right? The boring king? Uh-uh."
―Thor[src]

Without being raised along with Loki, Thor became more arrogant and rambunctious. He was more interested in partying in the vein of a college frat boy. When Odin was entering the Odinsleep, Frigga told him not to have parties, but he ended up doing so anyways on Earth.

Thor later learns how despite the people of Midgard being smaller than him, that they possess much more, as he told Captain Marvel, and was one of the reasons he fell for Jane Foster. His experiences on Earth caused him to become more human, being more altruistic, compassionate, humble and wise, however he still remained reckless and slightly arrogant.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Asgardian Physiology: As an Asgardian, Thor possesses incredible supernatural powers and superhuman attributes far surpassing many other species in the universe.
    • Superhuman Strength: Thor is incredibly strong, as he could strike Captain Marvel from France to the United Kingdom and topple Stonehenge like dominos with just one finger. He could also trade blows with Captain Marvel, whose punches have been described by Fury to be equal to ten nuclear bombs. He also straightened the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
    • Superhuman Durability: Thor is incredibly durable, capable of taking attacks from Captain Marvel with no visible injury, including getting punched from United Kingdom to America and hurled into a mountain.
    • Superhuman Speed: Thor possesses incredible superhuman speed, capable of keeping up with Captain Marvel throughout their entire fight.
    • Superhuman Agility: Thor's agility, dexterity, balance, and bodily coordination make him a great warrior for battle. He moves with incredible grace and speed despite his considerable size and body density.
    • Superhuman Stamina: Thor's advanced musculature is considerably more efficient than that of a human and most other Asgardians. As a result, his muscles produce far fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity compared to those of humans and most other members of his race. He showed no sign of exhaustion even after partying for extended periods of time and his fight against Captain Marvel.
    • Superhuman Reflexes: Thor can react and dodge objects traveling at high speeds.
    • Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his astounding resistance to injury, it is still possible to injure Thor. However, due to his Asgardian physiology, Thor is able to heal at a rate significantly faster than a normal human and even much faster than most Asgardians.
    • Longevity: Despite being over a thousand years old, Thor has the physical appearance of a young human adult.
  • Mjølnir Capabilities: To be added
    • Electricity Generation: Thor is capable of summoning lightning using Mjølnir. He used it against Captain Marvel and then to charge up a city's power grid after Surtur accidentally made it lose power.
    • Storm Manipulation: Thor is able to control the weather using Mjølnir. He summoned a massive storm in order to catch the attention of his guests and convince them to help clean up his party.
    • Energy Projection: With Mjølnir, Thor could project blasts, waves, and bolts of electrical energy of various sizes and intensities.
    • Weight Manipulation: To be added
    • Flight: Thor is capable of flying at high-speeds using Mjølnir.
    • Weapon Calling: Thor can summon Mjølnir to his hand wherever it is, even from great distances, as shown when he summoned it from Stonehenge when he was at America.

Former Powers[]

  • Protection Spell:
    Thor-Protection Spell3

    Thor receiving a protection spell

During the Battle for the Multiverse, Strange Supreme summoned a Guardian Vishanti protection spell and placed it on his teammates. However, this spell wore off after several hits from Ultron.
    • Physical Augmentation: The protection spell augmented his condition, as he was capable of grabbing Ultron and slamming him into the ground.
    • Weapon Enhancement: The protection spell augmented Mjølnir, and Thor allowed his hammer to injure Infinity Ultron during the battle.

Abilities[]

Thor is a highly skilled combatant, able to go toe-to-toe with Captain Marvel in combat as well Ultron.
  • Hammer Mastery: Thor can effectively use Mjølnir in his fights, as shown when he battled Captain Marvel, eventually getting the upper hand.
  • Expert Marksman: Thor is a highly skilled marksman, though his marksmanship is best shown in throwing his hammer. He is able to throw them with extreme accuracy, hitting his target every time.
  • Bilingualism: Thor is fluent in his native Asgardian, as well as English.

Equipment[]

Weapons[]

  • Mjølnir: Thor has been entrusted with the mighty hammer Mjølnir, that was forged from the heart of a dying star. Thor's mystical hammer Mjølnir, which resembles a mallet rather than a traditional war hammer, has a number of elemental based powers. It has been stated by Odin himself that Mjølnir's power has no equal. Mjølnir itself is extremely durable and combined with the various enchantments placed upon it by Odin, it is, for all intents and purposes, indestructible. Thor often uses the hammer as a physical weapon, with almost nothing being capable of withstanding a hammer blow or throw, with the tough materials such as vibranium like in the case of his original variant. Thanks to the enchantment of Odin, an unworthy individual cannot pick up Thor's hammer. This has allowed him to defeat several powerful enemies such as Carol Danvers by simply placing Mjlonir on top of them.
