- "Ribbit and rip it!"
- ―Leapfrog
Ribbit and Rip It is the eighth episode of the first season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Synopsis[]
She-Hulk represents Leap-Frog who was injured due to a malfunction in his custom-made super suit.
Plot[]
Equipped with Leapfrog's Suit, made by Luke Jacobson, Eugene Patilio attempts to stop a robbery but fails miserably. When he tries to fly away and escape, the suit's engine malfunctions and Patilio falls on the ground, with the suit combusting and burning his leg. He contacts Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway, asking if She-Hulk could help him file a lawsuit against Jacobson, deeming his suit to be defective. She-Hulk is hesitant, since Jacobson was the only tailor who could make her a dress for the Female Lawyer Awards gala, but Holden Holliway insists, since Patilio's father is an important client who requested She-Hulk to handle the case.
She-Hulk meets with Jacobson to settle things outside the court, but he gets angry at her assuming that he would make a defective suit, refusing to make a dress for her. During the trial, Jacobson is being represented by Matt Murdock, who makes an argument against presenting testimonies from Jacobson's other superhero clients on the grounds of their anonymity. As he reminds the court that Sokovia Accords have been repealed, Price denies She-Hulk's counterclaims. Murdock then finds out that Patilio used jet fuel for the suit, which was strictly against Jacobson's instructions, thus proving Jacobson's innocence. Losing her case, Walters meets Murdock in a bar, who offers her a peace offering and they have a friendly chat. Murdock says that Walters has the potential to help people as both lawyer and She-Hulk, before he abruptly leaves.
Walters later receives a call from Todd Phelps who bought the Vibranium Spear from an auction, but the Wakandans demand it back, so he requires She-Hulk's legal help. However, Phelps then starts harassing She-Hulk, prompting her to refuse and leave. Back at her apartment, Walters receives a call from Patilio that he was being attacked by someone. She-Hulk finds Patilio driving his car, while being attacked by Daredevil. She-Hulk fights him, while Patilio gets away. She-Hulk eventually strikes Daredevil down and unmasks him, discovering that he is actually Matt Murdock. Murdock tells Walters that after losing the trial, Patilio kidnapped Jacobson, so he would make suits for him. Both Walters and Murdock then go to rescue him.
They make it to the Lily Pad, where Patilio was holding Jacobson. Daredevil suggests proceeding stealthily, but She-Hulk insists on a more direct approach. Daredevil breaks into the building and fights Patilio's goons before being joined by She-Hulk. In a subsequent fight, She-Hulk and Daredevil free Jacobson and Patilio attempts to run away, only to fall on the ground and injure himself again. Afterwards, Walters and Murdock talk on a roof and Murdock says that he will be returning to New York City soon and suggests going on a dinner date once he returns to Los Angeles. Walters instead suggests skipping all that and they go to Walters' apartment, where they have sex.
The next morning, as Daredevil leaves Walters' apartment, Nikki Ramos tells Walters that it's time to go to The Southern California Law Awards, which confuses Walters, who thought that it was the end of the episode. She-Hulk and Ramos attend the gala, where She-Hulk, Mallory Book, and other lawyers receive an award. However, Intelligencia hijacks a broadcast at the gala, exposing Walters' personal information and a video of her having sex with Josh Miller, claiming that She-Hulk does not deserve anyone's admiration. She-Hulk loses her temper and punches the screen before chasing the Intelligencia members at the gala. However, she gets arrested by Damage Control agents.
