Dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) are a race of mammals native to Earth. Dogs, while commonly feral in wildlife, are one of the most widely domesticated fauna on the planet, with humans frequently adopting them as pets and domestic companions.

In 1966, the Soviet Union sent Cosmo into space, knowing she would never return and would likely die in space.[1]
A dog confronted Hank Pym during his mission in East Berlin but Pym was able to evade it.[2]
As a final examination test, all HYDRA members enlisted in their private academy had to prove their loyalty to the organization by executing their canine companions. This personally affected Hale, Jasper Sitwell, and later, Ruby Hale.[3]
While they ate ice cream in a park, a dog was being walked past Matt Murdock and Stick. The dog was hungry and longed for the hotdog that another person had nearby.[4]
In 1999, a dog named Buddy was the only companion of a teenaged Grant Ward when he was taken from a prison in Massachusetts to the wilderness of Wyoming by John Garrett to learn self-reliance. Six months later, Ward and Buddy had become close. Whenever Ward shot a deer, Buddy would fetch it for him.
Five years later, Garrett, in order to teach Ward emotional detachment to become a HYDRA sleeper within S.H.I.E.L.D., ordered him to kill the dog before they could go to S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy. However, Ward was unable to kill Buddy, and instead he fired his gun to the air and allowed Buddy to run away into the woods. Buddy later appeared through Ward's sniper scope, as the dog searched for a kill.[5] Buddy was killed by Ward and Ward told the story of his dog to Kara Palamas, who later relayed it to Bobbi Morse.[6]
During the time Bruce Banner was living in Porto Verde, he had a dog living with him. After General Thaddeus Ross discovered Banner's location and sent a team to capture him, Banner escaped, leaving Ricky behind.[7]
In 2010, dogs, cats, and birds were sold in a Puente Antiguo pet store that Thor entered, looking for a horse.[8]
A dog was owned by Geoff Zorick and lived in his mansion. When Scott Lang broke into the mansion, he avoided the dog by feeding him a piece of meat.[9]
In 2013, Skye compared wearing the Tracking Bracelet to being a stray dog who was tagged.[10]
After being sent into space, Cosmo was captured by the Collector. She was put into one of the exhibits in the Collector's Museum on Knowhere. In 2014, Cosmo watched as the Guardians of the Galaxy met with the Collector. She then survived the Power Stone's explosion of the place and was freed from her exhibit.[11] Later, she showed her loyalty to the Collector by licking his face.[12] By 2025, Cosmo became part of the Guardians and began to rebuild Knowhere, using her telekinetic powers.[13]
While Jessica Jones searched for Antoine Grier, Luke Cage attempted to calm down rottweilers Myers and Krueger, but ended up subduing them without harming the latter.[14]
After taking out most of the Kitchen Irish in 2015, Frank Castle adopted their guard dog Max. The dog was later used as a ploy to get answers out of Castle during his torture.[15][16]
Sneaking into his former house, Danny Rand came into contact with Joy Meachum's dog Toro and managed to calm him before leaving him behind closed doors.[17]
In 2016, outside of the Vienna International Centre in Vienna, Austria, police dogs barked to alert the police about the bomb which was set off by Helmut Zemo.[18]
With the intent on following Adrian Toomes' Crew, Spider-Man chased them by using the suburbs to catch up to the van, and was caught off guard by a dog in which he preceded to through a ball at as a distraction.[19]
In 2017, Following the incident at the Saint Agnes Orphanage, FBI and NYPD arrived to the church to find Karen Page and Daredevil who were the main suspects. After FBI agents Ray Nadeem and Benjamin Poindexter found that Page and Daredevil had disappeared, they brought search dogs to track them.[20]
In 2023, a dog stood outside his house in San Francisco, California and watched Scott Lang walk down the street, looking confused at all the overgrown bushes, piles of trash, and damaged cars.[21]
In 2023, within the Hex, while playing outside in Westview, New Jersey, Tommy and Billy Maximoff found a dog. They then brought him inside to give him a bath in the kitchen sink, when their mother caught them. The boys asked if they could keep the dog, and their mother agreed. After naming the dog Sparky and teaching him some tricks, Sparky ran out the door chasing a drone launched by S.W.O.R.D..[22] However, Sparky was then killed by Agatha Harkness who falsely claimed that he had eaten too many Azalea leaves.[23]
In June 2024, German Shepherds were present with airport security in Venice, Italy.[24]
A dog in London, England barked at Kro, who was lurking in the waterways. Later in London, dogs in a park started barking after there was a disturbance in the weather.[25]
In November 2024, a dog inside a car barked at Peter Parker on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.[26]
In December 2024, Yelena Belova took her dog, Fanny, with her when she visited Natasha Romanoff's headstone in Ohio.[27]
In December 2024, Lucky, a golden retriever living in New York City, found Kate Bishop outside a gala. When Bishop went to pet him, he ran off after hearing something in the back of the building. He found the Tracksuit Mafia and bit one of them, as they had been stealing auction items. Bishop ran to help, leading Lucky to run out into the street, but was saved by Bishop, who took him to her apartment. There he was fed pizza[28] and shortly met Clint Barton. When the Mafia threw Molotov cocktails into the apartment, Lucky ran upstairs as fires started. He was joined by Barton and Bishop and escaped through the fire escape.[29]
In 2025, Magnum, who was Sana Ali’s pet golden retriever, greeted Kamala Khan and Muneeba Khan when they arrived at his house.[30]
A dog lived near Agatha Harkness while she was trapped in a spell cast on her by Wanda Maximoff, believing herself to be a detective named Agnes O'Connor who was annoyed by the dog. A Teen broke into Harkness' house, leading "O'Connor" to chase him through the neighborhood. The teen tried to jump over a fence into the dog's yard, but the dog started barking at the teen, stopping him. "O'Connor" caught up to the teen, who pushed her into the fence as the dog kept barking at her.[31]

Threatened by the Ten Rings[]
In an alternate 2008, Arto was taken in by a family in Gulmira and was outside when the Ten Rings attacked. When he was found by his owner, some Ten Rings soldiers found them and told him to drop the dog, but he refuses. The Ten Rings soldier tries to shoot the boy but suddenly, a man in metal armor flew in and picked up Arto and his owner and took them to their family's hiding spot.[32]

In an alternate 2008, Arto was a puppy held by Ezil while Ezil ran through Gulmira during the Battle of Gulmira. He was spotted by four Ten Rings soldiers. However, Iron Man flew down and smashed the ground allowing him to carry them to safety.[33]

- A species similar to dogs lived on the planet Morag when it was inhabited, thousands of years ago. When he landed on the planet on 2014, Star-Lord saw a holographic "dog" playing with its mistress as he searched for the Orb.
- In Avengers: Infinity War, Rocket refers to the Outriders as Space Dogs, indicating there are also dogs outside of Earth.
