The Enchanted Necklace was a magical item used by Agatha Harkness to keep Ralph Bohner under her thrall. The puka shell necklace also gave Bohner the power of super-speed when he was wearing it.
History[]
Enthralling Ralph Bohner[]
Due to the fact that the real Pietro Maximoff's body was buried on another continent,[1] Agatha Harkness used the Enchanted Necklace to enchant Ralph Bohner, making him act like Maximoff for Wanda Maximoff, who enslaved Westview using Chaos Magic.[2]
One night, as Maximoff and Vision were arguing, an enthralled Bohner visited the Vision Residence, and Bohner and Maximoff greeted each other.[3] As time passed on, Harkness would use the necklace to see and hear through Bohner, keeping a watchful eye on Maximoff.[4]
Freed from Enslavement[]
Ralph Bohner decided to head home after being outed by Wanda Maximoff as an imposter. When Monica Rambeau, who was suspecting Agatha Harkness, decided to investigate the house and detected dark energy running through the basement, Bohner approached Rambeau to interrupt her search.[5]
Bohner held Rambeau hostage in his house and thwarted her every attempt of escape. Eventually, Rambeau came across several documents and bills that revealed Bohner's true identity. Rambeau then subdued Bohner before taking off the necklace around his neck, freeing him from Harkness' spell.[2]
Capabilities[]
Thanks to Agatha Harkness' magic, the Enchanted Necklace was capable of granting powers to those that wore it like how Ralph Bohner gained the powers of Pietro Maximoff. However, the necklace is capable of enthralling such individuals, causing them to be under control of whoever owns the necklace. This extended to Harkness using the necklace to keep watch on Wanda Maximoff, though she was unable to communicate through Bohner using the necklace.
