Nindalf, or Wetwang, was a swampland located to the south of Emyn Muil and east of the Great River Anduin, fed by the great inland delta of the Entwash. The Dead Marshes lay further east, and were a loose extension of Nindalf.[1][2][3]
History[]
Nindalf was a perilous and dangerous fen that stretched out over a wide area for many miles. Celeborn explained this to the Fellowship as they prepared to depart from Lothlórien down the River Anduin.[4]
Etymology[]
Nindalf is a Sindarin word, consisting of Nîn ('wet') and Talf ('flat field').[5]
