The Battle of the Crossings of Erui was the last battle of the Kin-strife of Gondor.
History[]
After a decade of cruel rule by Castamir the Usurper, the people of Gondor rebelled, and the rightful king Eldacar of Gondor returned to his Kingdom with an army from Rhovanion in TA 1447. Castamir and his men faced Eldacar at the Crossings of Erui, on the road from Minas Tirith to Pelargir, and Eldacar personally killed Castamir there. After this victory, Castamir's heirs were then besieged in Pelargir, eventually fleeing by sea to Umbar. However, many Dúnedain of pure Númenórean blood were killed in the battle.[1][2]
