Upon second watch, this movie doesn’t only borrow heavily from IKWYDLS, but also from Scream.
And somehow is better than both (i love both of them don’t @ me)
More movies should be made on Cantonese DVDs with ambiguous-at-best authenticity. If i see a Cat 3 warning and only Chinese letters on the box, and plop in the Region 0 disc, and BOTH English and Cantonese subtitles can’t be turned off, it just adds to the experience. This movie’s incredible as it is, for reasons I already went into in my previous review.
Shame that almost no trace of it exists online. Get yourself a Hong Kong made ambiguous-at-best DVD copy.
