Robert Eggers delivers yet again a masterpiece in atmospheric horror. His interpretation of Count Orlok is my favorite one so far, not only in the historically accurate design, but also because he's a more intimidating, imponent and overall terrifying presence in comparison with the rest. Eggers dared to change a very iconic traditional look and he pulled it off as easy as that.

Herzog heightens the feeling of sadness and melancholia in this version of the classic gothic tale of infatuation. The vibe keeps the eeriness at all times thanks to the masterful visual composition from the director and cinematographer. Such an emotionally intense piece of work. Isabelle Adjani is naturally great in this.

I thought a movie where a young girl kills herself on her birthday by leaping from a balcony head first into the concrete called "Miss Violence" would be more interesting than this.
