Completely fine TV movie. I like Taron Egerton quite a bit even in a fairly thankless roll like this. There’s one pretty sick fake-oner fight in a car on a freeway, and a pretty gnarly kill at the end. SO much TSA thin-powder-blue-line valorization in this, cmon man. Would have benefitted from making the tsa staffers more semi-comedic clock-punchers like the one guy pushing his SoundCloud and then Taron getting pushed into an exceptional circumstance is even more heightened.

These Sony spider villain movies are undoubtedly stupid and bizarrely disfigured by studio IP demands, but I can’t help but find them kind of charming in how sloppy they are. To paraphrase David Ehrlich’s review, like from a universe where Jennifer Garner’s “Elektra” was the paradigm shifting superhero hit rather than iron man.
Aaron Taylor Johnson is a weird presence since I find him very high-floor-low-ceiling. He can undoubtedly hold a frame and is fairly capable of playing a generic…

Everything I had seen/read about this was true and correct. At times kinda great, at times unwatchable. Bizarre, baffling, outrageous. I had a great time. New banner entry in the Big Weird Mess canon. Aubrey Plaza locked in. I don’t know man, this thing is insane, we’re always so lucky when some pure uncut maniac vision like this somehow gets through the gates.
